Can I go to any doctor or hospital for treatment?
Yes. There is a provision for private insurance and guaranteed freedom of your choice. You are provided a chance to keep any doctor or specialist with whom you are comfortable, or you are allowed to choose any physician for any second opinion. There are no lists or the managed care programs place the managed care programs place restrictions.
Can premiums be taken directly from my bank account?
Yes, there is an automatic payment plan on all products that are convenient and are considered as a convenient and an efficient way to pay premiums.
Is it true that my claims come directly to you from Medicare?
Yes, when you are subscribing to the UA Partners®*, there is an offer of nationwide quality and discount health and services program. This helps in the reduction of any kind of paper work, or claims that may cause hassles to you. There is also a scope of availing benefit of dollars.
Will you pay my providers directly?
If you are a UA Medicare Supplement policyholder you may subscribe to the "Automatic" Claims Filing® service, by which the payments are made directly to the providers who accept medicare assignment.
Does United American offer help on any prescription drugs?
Yes, there is help provided on the United American prescription drugs. There can be savings of 30% on the retail prescription of drugs and upto 45 % discount on the mail order prescriptions. There is another facility for those individuals who are enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B, as they become eligible for prescription drug coverage under Medicare Part D.

I am the administrator of a Medicare Supplement with UA. They cover 200 lives with our Senior Care supplement. We have NEVER had a problem with anyone having to pay anything out of pocket. If a member receives a bill, it is because the doctor or hospital did not submit it to the right agency. In any case, if I receive a call from a member that has received a bill, I call my UA rep. and within 10 minutes I have the date, amount, and check number of the payment. Our members are 100% satisfied with United American.
Waste of Money
I paid and only used the service once. They only paid $50.00 and I was left with the remaining amount. They don't cover anything.
My husband got a policy for himself so that he would be able to insure our child when he was born. The agent met him in person and promised PERSONAL service. They have not covered a single penny of the bills, despite knowing that this policy would be specifically for the child. She promised 20 "well baby" visits a year would be covered, but not one penny has been paid.

Read the Small Print
While I don't have personal experience with United American, I have been insured with many insurance companies, some good and some bad. In reading the bad reviews on here, the problems discussed could have been avoided if people had read their policies, rather than take their agent's word for it.
A great Company to do business with
I have been an owner of a small business for years and have dealt with my fair share of health companies, including the big Group Health companies, and none of them have matched United American Health Insurance in their Customer Service and Cost. When a United American agent contacted me about his company, I was a bit skeptical, but after meeting with him I knew it was different. So many of our past insurance companies would increase our rates if so many people came down with illnesses and major injuries. It was a great cost reduction from what we were paying so I agreed to meet with him. It was a meeting that payed off. My company has had United American for over 3 years now and I have been so glad to know that when one of my employees got cancer he was covered and his rates, nor the companies, did not go up. As a business owner it is hard to keep good employees and I am glad that through experiences like the employee mentioned prior and several others I have been to keep these great employees by offering great benefits. On my side though great benefits usually means great cost, but not so with United American. I would recommend everyone to check out United American. Thank You United American for being different than all the other health and life insurance companies I have done business with, and thank you for helping us turn our finances around through your great affordable insurance.
Not Worth It
I got insurance through United American Insurance in 2007. I was told that if I ever had to have surgery that 100% of the cost would be covered, so when I had surgery, i felt like i was in good hands. They paid only $2000 of the $11,000 bill saying that all of the things used during the surgery (meds, labs, sutures, IV, etc) were hospital expenses, and therefore not part of the surgery. They negotiated the bill down 10%. I could have received 40% off for paying cash. they refused to try to get a better price. I am now responsible for the remaining $8289. If I had paid cash I would have to pay $8648. This is hardly worth it.
United American Insurance
I was a United American Insurance Agent in Ohio and I was dismayed at the negative comments regarding this now defunct company. Although I empathize with you, United American specifically states that their benefits are specified and not Major Medical or Group Insurance. Specified benefits pays up to a certain amount and this amount is outlined in each policy. Limitations and exclusions regarding your policy is also listed. Therefore, during the 30 day free look, it would have been wise for you to read your policy thoroughly. If it did not meet your specific needs, you had the right to cancel and receive a refund of premium. United American also offered Catastrophic Coverage which included Cancer Benefits on a first time diagnosis. The benefit levels ranged from $10,000 to $50,000 and the pay out was a one time lump sum, depending on the benefit level you purchased. With most people its easier to blame the Agent and the Insurance Company than assume responsibly for their own negligence.
Awful Customer Service and Worse Coverage
They took money out of my account TWICE without my approval and after my premium was PAID! When I tried to get my money back, they claimed that they had no record of the transactions. It took 3 months to get them to put it back.
Gave Me a Chance
United American Insurance gave me a chance when other insurance companies wouldn't even give me the time of day. I had been continuously and repetitiously turned down by one company after another when I was seeking health insurance. It was pretty frustrating overall. United American Insurance approved me and proved affordable and reasonable; the staff is great and I have had no trouble with the company. I have now had a policy since November of 2006 and I can truly say that the company not only honors the policy they give, but they honor their customers too. If I have a problem I can call right away and it is handled immediately. I decided to take advantage of the company's life insurance policy as well. Definitely recommended; It's a waste of time reviewing other companies. United American Insurance is honest, fair, and they're not so quick to turn people away that need insurance.
