Bills Are Confusing
On the internet it shows that my account has a $6 charge every 6 months when I have always paid the entire amount before it was due. My bill stated that with webpay I may have my bill reduced by 5%. My local insurance agent said that the discount would be automatic when I signed up. Local agent was wrong. Seems like the local agents are not up to speed.
No Replacement Value
I had a robbery. Because of it, I had to buy and have a new door installed. The claims process has not yielded a penny, but has made a traumatic experience worse. In order to receive replacement value, you have to go buy a new item yourself and then submit the receipt, their forms and other documentation. They depreciate the item and then decide if they want to give you anything.
Overcharged with No Refund Available
They have poor customer service and outrageous premiums after the first year. They admitted to overcharging me $900 a year, but will not refund my money.
They were very helpful after a car accident and after a power surge in our house. They paid for everything, no problems. Immediate service.... I have had the same rep for 10 years and she's really nice
Poor Customer Service
My husband and I were in a nearly deadly car accident with some black ice. The car was totaled. Fortunately, we were alright. From the very beginning we got the "run around". Every time we called, we got a different answer as to what was going on... that is if anyone answered. They wanted to issue us a check for $7,000 less than what the truck was worth we finally got that straightened out and over seven weeks later we finally got a check. We now about a month after getting the check find out that Traveler's labeled my husband as a "negligent" driver.
Difficulty Settling a Claim
Their policy verbiage is plain and simple, however their interpretation is complex. My experience has not been pleasant. I can't get my adjuster to respond to a single question or return my telephone calls. Their prices are not the cheapest, but I bought this policy based on the fact that they are such an old company and from all my investigation in great financial shape. After 17 years as a customer, my first claim has been a nightmare.
Seconds can save a life.
As for Travelers Insurance Co. St.Paul - Shame on you!
One rep told me that my policy was already cancelled. Another rep stated I was covered until today.
Not Covered In The End
We had a fire caused by a dryer. The day we reported it to Travelers, a very nice adjuster called us to give us details on what the steps would be. He even said "I am looking at your policy and you are fully covered". Then two days later a different adjuster came to look at the damage and he spent more time trying to find reasons not to pay the claim. Before he left he said we were not covered. Funny how my mortgage company thinks that I am covered.
I got a quote for, signed up for, and started paying for a policy on my home. Customer service was helpful in the sing up process, but when it came to making policy changes, or filing a claim, they are NOT at all helpful.
