Poor Record Keeping

I had never had a accident and had kept continuous insurance when I went to my agent's office one day re-insure my car. The agent old me "that will be $1000". I asked why my car insurance had went from $500/6 months to $1000. He said "well you had an accident in 1999 that caused over $3,300 in damage to another vehicle". I told him I did not and he should know that since I had full coverage on the same vehicle with them. He said It's right here in the records. I was flabbergasted. I asked where and what day was this and he said July 2, 1999 here in town. I said that's bull and you should know it since I didn't move here until 2005. I believe that they don't keep proper records.
