Cancelled On But Not Informed
I found out we were not renewed after I tried to file a claim when my son hit a concrete block on the Interstate. My premiums were taken out automatic each month. When I report the claim we found that we were cancelled 12 days ago. we never received the letter that they mailed us informing us of the cancellation. Raised Rates After A Ticket
We have been customers since 2000. Recently, my husband a photo ticket. Progressive raised our insurance rate by $30. Before this we never filed one claim or had one other ticket. When we called we were told "this is the way it works".
Canceled For Not Having Enough Money In The Bank
When Progressive tried to take the money 4 days later than they normally do for auto-pay, there was not enough. They cancelled the policy immediately, even though it had taken them 4 days to get the money.
Slow to Deny
The claims dept is slow. There are loopholes in coverage. They found every excuse to deny coverage when proof of damage was proven.
Progressive was great price first year then they just keep going up and up with no claims. They fee you to death if you don't pay in full for the year also.
When it is time to renew your policy, they will come with all sorts claims, each of which increases your premium twice as much as your normal monthly payments. And as if that is not enough, the customer service representatives are negative and don't care.
The rates are slowly rising, but I'm sure that is true of most insurance these days. Two years ago we filed a claim for approx $7,000 worth of damages and the work was done quickly. They repaired the car to where you could not tell there was damage. They supplied a nice rental car during repairs. They treated us very well.

I just rented a car and had insurance from progressive online. After two months, I returned the car and tried to cancel insurance. They gave me hard time and charged cancellation fee of $50 dollars.
Slow Claim Processing
After being hit by a truck, it took Progressive 3 months to settle the paperwork and they tried to get me to pay for it. The other guys insurance, they actually took care of it for me. Progressive has taken over a year to answer the hospital back about paying the bill.
