The other segment that is associated with indemnity is known to be providing a kind of professional liability insurance to the different communities’ banks, principally directors and also officers. There are many other insurance related services that are also provided by these people, thereby adjusting claims in around 25 states for the Commercial Auto Insurance Procedures.

Progressive History
Progressive, with a total base of 12 million customers, is the third largest Auto Insurance Company in the United States. Progressive was formed on March 10, 1937 by Joseph Lewis and Jack Green, with the purpose of providing the vehicle owners, adequate security and protection. Progressive was always popular among the customers, as they provided options that appealed a lot to them, with many easy payment options. In this type of insurance the customers were provided an easy option scheme, through which they can pay their premiums, in many affordable installments. The main aim of the company in providing this kind of installments is to make it easy for the average people to protect one of their most precious investments, their vehicles. Progressive witnessed a steady growth in the next few decades, and was a witness to many new changes in the company. There were new offices of the company in downtown Cleveland, Ohio . The year 1955 saw the death of Joe Lewis, and the company had a new CEO in Jack Green. It was in these years only that Peter Lewis, the son of Joe Lewis, brought new ideas for the overall development of the company, so that the company is in a position to withstand all its competitors. Progressive Casualty Company was formed in the year 1956, with the aim of writing auto insurance for the high risk drivers. Progressive was formed in the 1960s, as a part of the expansion of the company. The 1970s also witnessed many changes with Progressive Insurance becoming a public company. The headquarters of Progressive was also shifted to Mayfield Village , Ohio . In the next few years there was major growth observed in the company, and it soon surpassed $1 billion in the form of premiums. This was a major development in the history of the company and the company also had its stocks listed in New York Stock Exchange Progressive (NYSE.PGR). The fact that differentiates Progressive from the other Insurance companies is that, it never did business by the way other insurance companies did. It introduced a new standard for the different auto insurance products, and was able to introduce a new response claims service, that was available for rendering services and supports to all the customers, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Progressive soon became the largest seller of auto insurance, in the year 1992, and a year later the company decided to shift its focus from the non standardized insurance. It started offering different kinds of its products to all the drivers, and soon the company surpassed $2 billions in terms of premiums. In the next few years cutting-edge auto insurance rate comparison shopping service was implemented. This was a very big relief for all the customers, as now they will no longer have to spend hours calling at different rates to know about the auto insurance rates. Once a customer makes a call at Progressive, he receives a quote and also comparison rates of at least three competitors. All queries of the customers are solved and once the customer is satisfied, he can buy the policy directly over the phone or even locally through an agent. In the same year of 1994, Progressive took a major step, by making a reduction in the human trauma that is caused by accidents. This was achieved, when Progressive introduced the Immediate Response Vehicle (IRV), which was a special kind of vehicle that was able to carry trained claims professionals, to the different areas, wherever the customer required them. It was in the year 2003, that the company launched a new level of claim service, and became the first insurance company in the industry, that took responsibility of managing all the vehicle repairs, and providing all the services to the customers, so that they can get their car fixed after a loss. Progressive is not only able to provide convenience but also helps in providing a peace of mind

There are many ways, in which you can contact the Progressive. The Company has its own website, progressive.com that was launched in the year 1995, and it is one of the few insurance companies that had its presence felt in the Web. Just a year after the launch of the website, the customers were able to download different kinds of comparison rates online, and with the beginning of the year 1997, there were many real time online sales taking place. The site of Progressive is quite popular and is visited by more than a million visitors every month. If you desire to buy Auto Insurance by just sitting at home, you just need to visit progressive.com. In case you are not comfortable with their site, you can also find the independent agents and brokers of the company. The main aim of the company has always been to look after the needs of the customers and to provide them with maximum satisfaction. Keeping this fact in mind, Progressive launched Personal Progressive, which is an online policy management system. The chief feature of this system is that the customer can change coverage’s as well as make payments in the policy, whenever they desire.

Progressive has always desired to keep a step ahead of competition, by offering the products you want and also when you want. This philosophy of Progressive has helped it to become the largest Auto Insurance Company of the country.

Claim Canceled Because They Were Non-Responsive

I hit a sign with my truck and called Progressive. They sent me a tow truck which pick my truck up and ran my company trailer into the sign 3 times incurring damages of $2900. I called Progressive and filed a claim. I was told that next day would get a call from a claims rep. The rep called and sent me an email. When I tried to call back, I got her voice mail. No one called me back for 17 days. When I finally did get a call, I was told they needed ME to go get a estimate and take pictures. The next day got email saying that due to my not responding to what Progressive wanted, the claim would be closed. I called and explained to another claims rep what had happened. I was informed that my rep had closed my claim and left to vacation and wouldn't be able to do my claim till the following Tuesday. Tuesday got a call and was told my claim was sent to Agero Roadside. Roadside called and said they would be back in contact in 1 to 3 days I waited till the third day before calling them back and was told I would be called in 3 hours. I called the Progressive claims rep back and was told she did her part. She would call roadside again. Now I'm just stuck waiting.

Best Affordable Insurance

Progressive has been the best insurance that was also affordable that I've used. When I initially signed up with them, the person on the phone gave me the online discount anyway, and built a policy with similar coverage to the one with my old company but much more affordable. The only accident claim I had was fast and painless compared to other companies I used and saw my friends using. Their website is easy to navigate and useful. Over the few years I was with them, I watched my premiums drop while everything else in my life got more expensive. I really appreciated how polite everyone was over the phone. Even when I had to eventually cancel my policy when I got married, they were very friendly and courteous. Also, they allow the option of just pressing "zero" on their phone menu to immediately (and not after several minutes) get a real person on the line--even on weekends.

Check Your Pricing!

I moved several hundred miles last year and decided to rent a house while we decided where we wanted to live after my relocation. Since we needed to change insurance companies, we went with Progressive for both of our cars and the rental insurance on the house. The first year was OK pricing. I figured the renewal would be better as we built some history with the company. The renewal for the rental insurance arrived and the rate went up over 25%. Now we have never had an insurance claim (with them or any other carrier), there are no changes to the policy and we have paid everything on time. In looking at the coverages, they increased the 'surcharge' for the number of units by 191%. I called them and they said "if you were in an apartment, the risk would be less, but since you are in a single family home, the risk is greater." I can understand that, but they don't insure the building, just contents on a rental property. This is a home that is less than 10 years old, 50 feet from a fire hydrant, under 2 miles from a fire station, worth over $300,000, not in a flood plain, low crime area... you get the picture... a great insurance risk.

Cancelled But Forced To Pay

I had an excluded driver on my policy and they claimed they did not get the paperwork so they bumped my payment up $200/month. When I cancelled the policy due to the change, they billed me for the remaining months I had left on the policy at the $200 extra a month rate! So now they are saying I owe them $600 for insurance that I won't even have!

Ridiculous Cancellation Fee

Aside from horrible customer service, they charge a $50 cancellation fee no matter when you cancel. Ridiculous! Seems to me that if you've been a paying customer for more than a year, you shouldn't pay a penalty for getting a better rate somewhere else.

I have been with Progressive for 10 years and have never had to use them until now. My husband was in an accident in which the other party was at fault. Since the day of the accident, he has been contacting Progressive and they claim that they have not been able to contact the other party and have to wait for the report to determine who is at fault.

Snide Attitude of Customer Service Reps

I was hit by a customer of progressive's. The driver ran a red light and smashed right into my $40,000 car that I love. The issue is this: A CSR at Progressive called me and told me that his customer did all the right things. She admits fault and called them right away. He sounded about 12 and had that smart tone. His take on it was that I should not be concerned that I am out my car, had to go get a rental, being inconvenienced to no end, driving a tiny rental car, my neck hurts, my daughter's chest has a large bruise from her seat belt, AND I SHOULD JUST BE HAPPY THAT THE DRIVER WHO HIT ME FELT BAD AND REPORTED IT RIGHT AWAY!!

When someone hits you and leaves it sucks! This guy ran in front of my husband and forced him off the road. We can only collect on an uninsured motorist claim - $25,000. My husband had a broken back, a broken leg, 4 broken ribs and lots of road rash. They took us to court to blame gravel on road not the guy in the red 1 ton truck. he hasn't been able to work for 2 years and we're received no compensation from Progressive.

You won't Receive Multiple Company Quotes

Progressive advertises they will give you multiple company quotes. I am one of three people who only received a quote from their company and we each received the same reason "no other companies submitted quotes". All three of us have excellent driving records, no claims for the last five years or more and wanted homeowners also, so It's hard to believe no other company looked at the info submitted.
