Worst To Deal With
I was rear ended by a customer of Progressive Insurance. It\'s now four weeks into the claim and they refuse to settle with me for what my vehicle is worth. First they want to take my vehicle to one of there yards due to the fact they can\'t get an adjuster out to view it for a month they state. When I say no all of a sudden within a week they are able to free one up. I find this out when I get a letter stating they looked at my vehicle and determined it a total loss. Then they find me comparison vehicles on line valued at $1000 - $2000 more than what I asked for and they still come in a thousand less than what I requested.I explained to my adjuster that the comparison vehicles have the same wear and tear and are selling for more than what I am requesting. He responds with \"that\'s the asking price\" I remind him again yes it is and when I haggle with the dealer we will be at what I am asking for.
Prices Hike On Each Bill!
I was a platinum member with a completely clean driving record. In 2007 they raised my rate from $200 every 6 months to $815. They fixed it and we thought it was a mistake so we stayed. Now in 2013 they did it again. When I spoke to the first person he said rates went up due to the economy. That was interesting since one of the cars went down. The second person told me that Alabama rates were raised, but that he would find me a discount. He instead said my vehicles were some how business vehicles and raised the rate again.
Rate Increase After Accident
I called customer service and the rep was not friendly. You can effectively replace the rep with a robot because they just repeat the rules. I am a platinum member and one of the benefits is "Small Accident Forgiveness". I thought an accident which cost $550 is a small accident. I asked the rep about the limit of "Small Accident". She said it is $750. Then I asked why my premium was increased as it cost just $550, she asked me to hold on a minute. After 3 minutes she came back and said the limit was $500. I tried to argue with her and all she repeated was 'this cost x points' and 'that cost y points'. I too know number system. This act by Progressive cost 3 points and my rating dropped from a 4 to a 1.
Early Cancellation Fees
I purchased a motorcycle policy with Progressive in May. I paid in full, including an additional amount when I moved - $168 in total. I received a quote in November, from my auto insurance provider, that was $75 less per year. Of course I took that, but upon cancelling my Progressive policy, I was hit with a $30 early cancellation fee. So, my refund of $80, dropped to $50.
Insuring Those Who don't Drive
I have two grandsons. One drives and has his own policy with Progressive. He uses the same agent as I do. My other grandson has never driven a car. They sent me a bill for the two grandkids that was over $700. I went to the agent and tried to explain that one of my grandsons already had his own policy with Progressive and that the other didn't drive. She called the company and told them the situation. They took the one grandson off, but said that I still owed them $264 for the one who doesn't drive.
Called A Liar
I just got into an accident. It was the other guy's fault. My insurance company called me a liar! didn't even fight for me because they didn't want to go to court. I had a witness and they discredited my witness because my witness couldn't remember the color of the police uniform. My claim adjuster was unprofessional and rude and called me liar even when I has a witness. I am disgusted and appalled by the way I was treated.
No Loyalty To Long Time Customers
I've been with Progressvie since 1997. I hav never had a ticket. I got a bullshit citation last year (non-moving violation) and Progressive increased my premium by nearly $200 every 6 months. I called customer service, spoke to supervisors and no one cared.
Left On The Side Of The Road
We had a double blowout on the way home from vacation. I was told before we left that we were covered completely and not to worry about anything. I called Progressive and was transferred to the roadside service department. The rep said "I can't even pull up a policy for you". She wanted to know every detail about our RV and us and took our cell phone #. and home #s and said "I will call you right back". To this day we have not heard from her.
Paid A Stranger, But Not Their Customer
Last spring a girl hit me in the parking lot. I called Progressive and called the police nothing happened. The police didn't issue a ticket and Progressive told me since there were no witnesses and no ticket, it was a no-fault accident. We would both have to pay for our own damages. Now six months later my insurance has doubled. I called to ask why and they tell me they have paid out on a claim for the girl that hit me! What?? I thought no one was at fault. I am their customer and they didn't pay anything for my damage, but someone who isn't their customer they paid on?
