Left Me Homeless
I have been homeless for 15 months after a house fire that created extensive damage. I had the premium policy with six extra riders on the house. They won't even give 10 percent of what it would cost to fix the house.
Abandoning My House
As a disabled Veteran I am unable to afford or actually do any repairs to my home. I attempted to contact many organizations to assist me in my dilemma, but to no avail. In desperation, I then contacted Nationwide. I had them for over 15 years. I was notified that they are not going to renew my policy. This will not bode well with the mortgage company. I have no choice but to have to abandon my house.
Great to Work With
Our family has been with Nationwide for years. I was in a serious accident and totaled my car. Nationwide was prompt and generous settlement. I also had other minor accidents with same service. There was no rate increase.
Trying To Get My Money back
My son and I purchased two new motorcycles. The were insured through a broker with Nationwide/Allied. I have never experienced a more screwed up operation. Customer service stinks. Accounting stinks. I finally canceled after 3-months and then attempted to get a refund of the $760 I had paid them. I am still attempting to get my money.
Poor Claims Process Practices
If you are involved in an accident, expect to wait a long time for your claim to be settled.
I've been with Nationwide Insurance for a couple of years . . . No problems whatsoever. When my windshield was broken because my neighbor's kid threw a rock; my glass coverage took care of it without issue. Even when I had an accident, I wasn't given any reason to complain. Three years ago, when I got in a collision with another driver, my car was totaled and I got hurt pretty badly. The accident wasn't my fault, but I was stressing. I thought that for sure I wasn't going to get what my car was really worth. The driver at fault had Nationwide and when the company gave me no trouble with the claims payout, I immediately switched. haven't regretted the decision ever. Nationwide Insurance is a top-notch company. Low prices, convenient services and nice people to talk too all around. Anyone out there looking for a good car insurance company should go with Nationwide Insurance.
Poorly trained employees.
If you like high monthly premiums, slow repairs, and the worst customer service, go with Nationwide. I was a nationwide insurance customer for 6 years and got into one car accident. They gave rental car for only seven days while car was still in shop and said I had to return the car or pay for it. The reason why car was still in shop? Nationwide still had not approved the repairs and tried to say it was my fault for the delay.
I have tenants insurance. The landlord did not fix the leaking roof for 3 weeks creating moisture in the property. Eventually water came in the ceiling and my belongings got mold on them. I had to move because the place was uninhabitable. All of my things that are salvageable are in storage and I am homeless. Nationwide denied my claim. The said that water had been seeping in building and that the rain was wind driven rain.
After 10 years, I was dropped. Nationwide wants to "limit risk exposure." I have never made a claim against my homeowners insurance.
