I am trying to get a claim processed through them by a woman I bought a house from. Between the time the house inspection was done and the closing took place, there was a hailstorm that did roof damage. The former owner of the house was reluctant to file a claim after I found out about the roof damage. She was finally convinced to do so. I contacted the Hartford insurance Company and they not only refused to talk to me (privacy issues they said), they refused to honor the claim of their former policy hold. The supervisor I talked to told me to hire a lawyer when I asked to speak to someone higher up the food chain. She was rude and dismissive. I don't own any Hartford insurance products, and if I did I'd drop them immediately. And this is the AARP endorsed homeowners insurance company.
