Difficult And Lengthy Quotes Process

I was shopping for insurance. I spent a lot of time on the phone with a rep and she said she would email me the quote, rather than just tell me the price right then. When I opened my email, rather than finding a one page, easy to read email, I was accosted with a barrage of additional links, and complex hurdles that required additional input, and even more effort than I am now putting into this complaint. I still do not know the many dollars that I could have saved, neither do I care any longer!

I have lived in Pennsylvania and I sublet a basement apartment with my aunt for over 9 years now. I have had insurance on all of my vehicles for over 8 years at the same address. Esurance has been my automobile company on and off for several years now. In the past, I was asked to provide proof of residency. I gave documents supporting my residence to Esurance from my landlord and I have also provided bank statements showing transactions in Pennsylvania. At the time of establishing my policy, Esurance made it a point to ask if I frequented NYC/NJ on a regular basis and I advised I did. This caused me to pay a higher premium.

I have had one accident in my entire life and this company has doubled my insurance premiums as a result. I have never experienced this before. I work for a living, but with the increase in the rates I can no longer afford to drive to work to make a living and feed my kids. My premiums are incredibly high to begin with. My roommate who didn't get his license until he was in his 40's because of repeated suspensions for driving without insurance has lower rates and he has to file an sr-22. I have paid my dues for my whole life and I get screwed like this from a company that I have been with for a year.

My rates were increased more than anybody can afford a year, especially the a veteran like me who depends on social security payments for my retirement. My yearly cost went up from $920 to $1,163. It says they do not have to inform the client until 45 days out of renewal. I think it should be 6 months out so we have more time to either fine the money or find a lower quote!

I have had Esurance for several years. I had no problems with them... that was until they teamed up with Allstate. When our policy renewed this year, our rates went up over $60/month. When I called to find out why, they said they did a statewide policy review. It was based on the number of claims OTHER drivers in my STATE have... even if they are not insured with Esurance. It doesn't matter that I have no accidents or tickets, I still have a huge rate hike. I complained. They told me if I want to find a new carrier they would charge me $50 for early cancellation.

In 2099, I was a passenger in an accident which was caused by a driver who was insured by Esurance. The claims department told me I didn't need an attorney; to just mail them all the the bills for the bodily injury. I did. They waited to make their decision until after they say the time to make a claim has expire. They will not pay unless I have filed a case in court already. I did what they asked before the 'time ran out on the claim' but they did not respond in time.

I lost a car to tropical storm Debbie. After 5 days of recuperation, I contacted Essurance. The very next day a tow truck showed and took my car to the body shop. the car was assessed at a total loss. I received a check with in 2 days for the actual value of the car. Great job Essurance!!


don't Care About Their Customers

I have paid $2,572.57 for the piece of mind that if anything ever happened to my vehicle Esurance would stand by their side of the deal and make things right. That wasn't the case after my vehicle was rear-ended by an uninsured motorist. The police confirm the other driver was at fault and even though my insurance was current. I was refused coverage because my wife, who is not on the policy, was driving.


Worse Than Having No Coverage

In a recent accident, that was not my fault (the 6 witnesses heard the other driver tell me it was his fault), I was told by Esurance that they would cover the cost of a rental car while they sorted things out with the other drivers insurance. Twenty days into the rental, the adjuster from Esurance was still sure that they would be able to work out the details. Since the accident was on private property (a parking lot) the police would not file a report, and told us they could only talk to the insurance companies. Thirty days into the rental, Esurance informed me that they would not cover her car, or the cost of the rental. Esurance also told us that they would not be pursuing the other driver (they were not paying anything). If Esurance had told us upfront that they were not going to cover costs, we would have pursued other options and saved in excess of $500.
