Slow Long Term Care Checks Processing
They have promised for over 5 years that they would get direct deposit, but they "can't get software to work", so they mail checks. By contract they have 5 days to process, but they can wait days to actually mail the check, thus my caregiver has gone 6 weeks without getting paid. They refuse to expedite checks. They often "lose" time-sheets during any holiday. They infuriate and endanger the clients by not paying the caregivers.
My parents have been paying for Long Term Care with CNA since 1995. They paid over $100,000 for two policies. My father fell and broke his hip and shoulder. He has been trying to get reimbursed for seven months. They have used every excuse not to pay. They claim that paperwork is missing, that the correct information is missing... I've mailed them correctly completed documents numerous times.
Slow Customer Service
For the last three months my dad has been trying to get my deceased mother's reimbursement checks re-issued in his name after submitting all of the correct probate court issued paperwork that was demanded by the CNA insurance company. They still haven't re-issued the checks after many phone calls to customer service to find out why this is so delayed. I have been promised return phone calls from supervisors that never return calls and whom have subordinate employee only put me in voice mail when I call back to find out what the status is. Reissuing checks in a new name is a standard and actually quite SIMPLE process, and the CNA Insurance company can not seem to handle it. I think it is disgraceful to treat long paying clients like my father with this disrespect, especially during a time of mourning and loss.
Different Excuse Every Week
My mother paid long term care premiums to CNA for decades! Now they won't pay for her care. They find a different reason every week not to pay. The phone reps are unhelpful and downright rude. It is shameful how they treat their elderly customers.
No Payouts, Only Excuses
Over the last 10+ years, we have paid over $100,000 for 2 policies. My husband had a claim and after 5 months of waiting, there still have been no payouts. They have given us every excuse in the book.
Very Ill Man No Longer Qualifies
My parents bought CNA insurance in 1998 and paid their premiums faithfully. My mother suffered a fall that caused her to have a traumatic brain injury. Her case was in review for over 5 months before CNA decided they would pay. Until then they stated they had not received the proper paper work. In October 2010 my father moved in to the same assisted living facility as my mother. Upon my mother's death, my father did not feel as though he could stay where he was and moved to another facility. CNA has been reviewing my father's claim and informed me this week that he no longer qualifies for his long term insurance. My father cannot cook for himself, uses a walker or a cane to get around, has to have help dressing, bathing and taking his medication and has fallen at least 6 times in the last 6 months. He has heart problems, hearing difficulty and diabetes.
Nightmare Work Comp
Oh yeah, at first they are all nicey nice, then BAM!!! They ignore the injured worker. Warning to the injured worker: lawyer up as soon as you find out your employer has CNA. They absolutely do not care about the persons injury, do not care about the person, do not care about anything but themselves.
Stalling On Payment
Their insured caused an accident in which property was destroyed and I was hurt. They won't pay. I think It's just all a stall tactic.
Long Term Care Claims Always Rejected
My parents planned their whole life to not be a financial burden to their family. They spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in what they were sold as "peace of mind" for their later years, only to find out standard and customary costs are not reimbursable and that claims, if ever paid, take at least months of out-of-pocket costs. Every claim is first rejected.
No Long Term Care Payments
I have never have been able to make it through paperwork to get any reimbursement after 18 years of premiums.
