More About CNA Insurance
We have been in the business since many years, but in the recent times we have entered into the business of property and casualty insurance. We have a long history of leadership but in all the years we have witnessed major setbacks also. We had suffered heavily in 1990, due to the pricing policy, and later diversified in other core areas. There was a leadership change in the year 2002, and were back into insurance excellence, that included the following features.

Strategic Focus.
Our main focus has always been the life, health and reinsurance business. In the recent times the focus has been on commercial property and casualty insurance.

Underwriting Discipline.
We have been able to strengthen most of our controls on the issues of pricing and selection of risks. We have a strong group of excellent underwriters, who help in the process of decision-making.

Balance Sheet Strengthening.
We have acted upon a comprehensive assessment of different revenue reserves. The company has also been able to add a new rigor to the process of revenue reserves.

New Leadership and Technical Talent.
We have a bunch of talented leaders and team with great technical talent. Experienced and skilled professionals run our organization.

Management Information.
There are many multiple, non-compatible systems that help in the tracking the performance of a business. The system is a centralized one and provides business metrics to the agency level.

Expense Management.
We have been able to introduce many aggressive, multi step expense reduction plans, so that we have a generated savings of $250 million and more.

Strong Ratings.
We have been rated as A, by A.M. Best and has been provided on the basis of financial strength. These ratings prove that we deal with many legacy reserve issues, and back up its balance sheet, with an excellent capital plan.

Solid Financial Condition.
We have strong financial position, with a low debt equity ratio. Our investment portfolio is also conservative.

CNA Insurance Going Forward
Today the company is in the best of financial position and strength. It has diversified itself in great heights, in order to meet the growing needs and demands of the customers, all across the United States. It has a very strong foundation base, and most of the leadership is based and focused on certain qualities of discipline, professional claim handling and other features. It has been more than 100 years since we are in the business, but our focus has always been the same. We are highly committed to all our customers, distributors as well as business partner. Our aim has always been to move forward and make excellent track records of success.

Most frustrating experience dealing with this company. Extremely, difficult to get CNA to approve qualified payments.

LTC Claim Denied

My mother is in an assisted living facility and is receiving care from the aides at the facility. The director faxed the aide documentation forms to CNA as proof of care. CNA had denied the claim, stating that there is no proof that the care is being provided by the assisted living facility. CNA insists her care is being provided by a private individual. Everything that I\'ve read in these posting has been my experience as well. I call and get a different agent each time. The person you wish to speak with is conveniently not available and when you leave a voice message, they never get back to you. \"We need that additional form\'\' \"We didn\'t get that form.\" \"We\'ll review the claim and have a decision in 7-10 days\" I finally sent all documentation by registered mail several days ago and am awaiting their reply.

Road Blocks

I have been calling CNA for the last few months trying to get information on our coverage and to get our claims paid. I feel as though the company places road blocks in the claims process on purpose all to make it difficult to get them to pay a claim.

Claims Denied

I've spent years paying my premiums without an objections, but now that I'm trying to get some money from the company by filing a legitimate claim, they have done everything possible to fight me every step of the way and ended up flat out denying me. What did I pay all of that money for?

Every Rep Gives Me Different Answers

Dec 11, 2012 by Anonymous

My parents paid CNA thousands in premiums over the years. My mother is now in assisted living with Alzheimers. As of month number 3, no claim has been paid. Their company initially keeps a list of additional items they say they "need", but only ask for 1 at a time... usually every 2 weeks as an excuse to delay paying. Because CNA records their phone calls for quality assurance there is no expectation of privacy on the line. Therefore, I also recorded my conversations with them on the phone. I have recorded conversations with claims reps within a hour of each other, in which the reps provide me with completely opposite information of what's needed to process the claim. I repeatedly send them what they need and they say either they don't have it or need something new. Whenever they ask for a new item, I demand to know why they haven't requested before that date. Their usual response is that they don't know why the previous CNA rep gave me wrong information. I spoke to 3 separate CNA reps...IN A ROW!. The first rep told me 2 items were missing from my mom's facility, the second rep told me they had all the forms and the claim would be processed in 7-10 days, the third rep told me they had all the forms, but needed "additional information" about medicaid that they forgot to ask for and that the claim wasn't being processed. All these conversations are recorded, along with the names of the reps that I spoke to. Every time I ask to speak to the same rep as before, they say they are unavailable. When I told them I received different information from the previous rep, they say it was bad info, but too bad. The last rep told me they even though it was their mistake not obtaining the medicaid information, the clock started over again for me and would be anywhere from 10-30 days to process. These are initial stall tactics to keep your money and deny claims. CNA's policy to its workers are to deny and keep the confusion level high in order to get people to give up. There is no other reason why 3 employees would all have separate information except for the fact that they are told to make it up.

Avoiding Payments of Claims

Both my parents have CNA for LTC insurance. They have dutifully paid month after month for DECADES. Now that they need care and are FULLY qualified, CNA has set up a series of hurtles and obstacles ALL INTENDED to avoid payment of claims. The customer "care" staff tries to at least be pleasant, but there is absolutely no doubt the company tries as long as possible to hold onto your money without issuing claims checks. They should NEVER be used for this or any "coverage". They could not be worse!

Very Low To Pay

My partner paid in over 25 years for her long term care policy. They have tried every trick in the book not to pay. I wrote a scathing letter and faxed it in and they actually called me to discuss. They are VERY slow to pay. Faxing paperwork to them, they conveniently couldn't read anything faxed. Now mailing everything. The rules are ridiculous.

You will never get reimbursed. CNA is intimidating, calculating, disorganized, and deceitful! They are in the business of denying claims.

You will never ever collect. They do everything possible to prolong process. They continually ask for more documentation and then never receiving what is faxed.

Poor Claims Process Practices

After paying premiums for Long Term Care Insurance for years, CNA has done everything they can to make it impossible to collect on valid claims for my elderly mother's care. Even when we asked, they never provided us with a list of all the documentations necessary at the outset. They seemed to add requirements as the claim process progressed. You can never speak to the same agent twice. If you ask to speak to a particular person, they are "unavailable" or " out of the office until Monday."

Insurance USA , USA 4.5 127.0 83 83 this company is out of compliance processing claims on a regular basis. Jim, elizabeth, gail and others in the claims dept. just don't care and even laughed at me. No one ever gets
