this company is out of compliance processing claims on a regular basis. Jim, elizabeth, gail and others in the claims dept. just don't care and even laughed at me. No one ever gets fired, and they fave total immunity on how they do their jobs. Once they waited 10 days to mail my check, because I complained. My checks are late about once a month, out of the contractural compliance with my employer. so do yourself and your employees a favor, go somewhere else. and they still don't have direct deposit..really?

All you need is to read the following reviews. Every complaint is just. This company is cold,calculated, and incredibly crooked. I am in the process of hiring an attorney for my poor deceased Mother who worked so hard to pay for this insurance so as to lessen the burden on her children. I could never have imagined an insurance company being so corrupt. You are better off saving the money yourself. Wish me luck.

No Payments, Just the Runaround

My mother paid for years and was so proud to have LTC insurance. I have stacks of the letters I have received from this terrible company, notes on the repeated calls. Mom has passed from Pulmonary Fibrosis, still not one payment, just same run around as has been mentioned. I am in shock this company is allowed to exist! I wish I could have given a negative rating.

Poor Customer Service

My father has had long term care through CNA for many years and now that he needs it there is a problem getting his money ( that he paid into for a very long time) every month they take 25+days to actually approve the payment. Their way of handling Senior Citizens is despicable and the attitudes on their customer service department leaves a lot to be desired. If I had to ever choose a long term company for insurance it would not be them. They are a horrific company and seriously I don\'t understand how they get away with the shenanigans they do.

Best Company to Deny a Claim

This company was very creative in finding a way to decline my claim. I paid premiums for 15 years to this company and when I finally filed a claim the CNA adjustor kept telling me he needed more information which I supplied. The adjustor then came up with two of the lamest excuses to deny the claim. His interpretation of the policy was so ridiculous at first I thought he was making a bad joke. When I realized he was serious I was very upset. The adjustors only response was he was sorry but the claim was denied. He told me if I didn't like the decision if I wanted to file a complaint with the state insurance department to do what I felt I needed to do. When I checked with the insurance department they informed me they only handle consumer complaints and my only alternative was to hire an attorney to sue. I spoke to a couple of attorneys and their retainers where as much or more than the claim. I don't have the money to sue. CNA wins because I can't afford to fight them.

Nightmare Work Comp

I sustained injuries at work and have had nothing but problems dealing with CNA. They have prolonged the process, lied about not receiving records, refused to pay, ignored doctor's request for approval of surgery, they do not answer phone calls or return emails and make your injuries seem as if they are your fault when it is clear and has been proven that they are not. I am off of work due to my injuries and they refuse to pay my work comp benefits by keeping my claim disputed regardless of the proof that my claim was, in fact, due to work related injuries. As soon as you find out that your employer has CNA for their work comp coverage insurer, lawyer up and request that emergency hearing be requested at the first sign that CNA is disputing, denying or prolonging your claim. What a nightmare. They do not care about the welfare of the injured.

Shameful Practices

I am now the third family member trying to resolve payment issues with CNA. My elderly father is seeking $10K overdue payments. I echo all of the problems outlined in these complaints. The consistency of CNA's abuse of the elderly is shameful. They stall, deny coverage when all paperwork has been completed and submitted, you will never talk to the same person twice. Try going up the chain of command - don't bother, same thing but worse. It is truly amazing that this company can get away taking advantage of our seniors at a time in their life when they are dealing with all kinds of difficult medical issues. I don't know how they can sleep at night.

Lack of CNA Paymanet

I have paid into CNA healthcare for decades and send in the required documentation for payment of weekly home care. To date I have not received one dime from CNA. I am 91 years old, blind and broke my hip last May. I have appealed to insurance agencies in California and Minnesota to no avail. I am interested in joining a class action suit to get paid what they owe me and punish them for first party bad faith actions

Stopped Payments

A CNA rep told me that they would settle my claim. For two years, they paid around $50,000. After that they kept making excuses not to pay me. They had me followed and took pictures of me doing repairs on my house; they claimed fraud so they could keep from paying me.

Horrible LTC Claim Handling

My 91-year-old mother has had a CNA LTC policy since 1989 and has continued to pay high premiums from her small retirement income despite premium increases, all so she could protect her independence as she aged. She now needs a limited amount of in-home care (we\'re down to an hour a day to try to make do)to supplement help from family. Her medical conditions clearly trigger the policy and the care is covered. After 5 months of filing claims and supplying repeated copies of the requested paperwork, CNA is still stalling and now again requesting paperwork I have actually reviewed with them over the phone in past months, so I know it is in their file. They seem to be waiting for her to die in the hope that the claim will die with her. I\'m an elder law attorney and have helped clients with LTC claims with multiple insurers in the past. Never have I encountered such poor claims handling and such an egregious display of bad faith toward an elderly insured. We will not give up, but my mom would have done so by now without an advocate. I echo the experiences of many expressed in the ratings on this site. CNA\'s behavior is shameful.
