I use to work for CIGNA. They claim to be customer focused, but do not believe that! Behind the scenes: Deny and let the member appeal!
Customer service is horrible! They do not keep records of customer calls so each time you call you start over. They basically don't care about individual customers as all the big money is in selling group policies.
Constantly Loose My Claims
I'm sitting on the phone right now with Cigna... It's been over an hour now. Each month I call them and review my claims from years earlier which they still keep rejecting. Mostly, they loose my receipts. Or say that they were still missing information, but for some odd reason the information is on the receipt.
denying Coverage After Cancellation
I received this health care through my work and was hoping to have some decent health care insurance. This company has sent me hundreds of letters stating that I needed to provide them with more information that I already gave them. Then they would stall until months down the road when my doctor bills are in collections before they would pay their part. Since I cancelled the insurance, they are going back to the doctors and stating that they has made an error and that the responsibility falls on me thus boosting my bills even further through the roof.
Frustrating To Work With
I am completely disappointed in the company overall. They deny claims of in-network doctors until I call them and they fix it after the 3rd phone call. I have been on calls with the customer service group 5+ times over the same issue with no resolve. The customer service group does not keep notes from previous phone calls so I have to discuss the issue every single time I call with no positive result.
Cigna is not only disorganized and incompetent. They blatantly lied to my employer about a conversation that I had with them.
won't Approve MRI
This is my second time trying to get an MRI done and they denied it. I have done what they asked me to do. My doctor cannot do anything else for me because he has no films to look at.
Every time I turn around I have to find another receipt to reactivate my card.
CIGNA is somehow in cahoots with CareCentrix, which acts as a middleman in order to get money up front from the customer with absolutely no guarantee of getting the money returned, once It's paid. I fear this is the future of what insurance companies eventually want to do. Make the customer pay and then with absolutely no power, attempt to get it back.
