I was a long time satisfied AMICA customer until this year, the company is degrading rapidly. They don't seem to care about their customers, much less long time loyal customers. They are cutting too many corners in their business, it is only a mater of time before they really start screwing their customers.
Made a Claim And Got Dropped
After 6 years with them, we had a bad winter and we made an inquiry as to the coverage on our roof. They "OFFERED" to come look at it for us then sent us a letter saying they would not cover or 7 year old roof on the house over the garage because it was not built well structurally even though we did not make an official claim. The garage has been standing for 50 years with no problems. When our policy came up for renewal they dropped us because they had concerns about the garage. Nice show of loyalty to customers.
Low-Ball Internet Quotes
I got an internet quote of $1100 and when I called them to buy, they said my quote $2000. When asked, the customer service replied that the internet quote is not accurate. She insisted on adding my wife who only have a learners permit. She also said that her records indicate my wife has permanent license.
I was rear-ended and found to be at fault. The other vehicle rear-ended my vehicle while in a parked position! Amica aided and abetted a criminal by paying the other driver for a job well done! That individual was awarded damages for personal injury, i.e. jumping out of a truck and over a snow bank and property damages. This individual, at the scene of the accident, pleaded with me not to file a claim with my insurance company which I would not commit to and as such, was awarded with surcharges for three years!
Never a Problem
Awesome insurance for 7+ years. I have 3 cars and my home insured. The only thing that would make me happier is if the rates were about 10-15% lower. Three accidents in 7 years and never a hitch with them.
Someone hit me at a red light and Amica was excellent. They were quick to get all of the information and bills paid on time.
Cheap and Good
It's no wonder why they win so many customer satisfaction awards. They are cheap, great coverage, and employees. Very helpful.
I was involved in an accident in 2007 and Amica helped me handled the situation. They were polite, courteous, prompt, and attentive and I am thankful for the services that Amica Insurance provided me with. I put my trust in the company and I recommend them highly: anyone looking for car insurance coverage can't do better than Amica.
Terrible Customer Service
I've been with Amica several years and never filed a claim up until a month ago. I got into an auto accident and my car was claimed a total loss. It's been a month now that I have been without a car and my claim has not been settled. My calls get ignored and my claims adjuster has left me hanging.
A copper pipe leak in our crawl space caused serious mold and structural damage worth $12,500. An Amica claims inspector came to survey the damage twice and each time denied our claim.
