Continuous inspections ruin homeowners experienceNov 04 2014
The most irritating thing about Allstate homeowners insurance is ongoing inspections. They sent an inspector out to inspect my house when I first bought insurance with them and made me a list of things I had to fix so they wouldn't immediately cancel the policy. No structural things, mostly aesthetics. I fixed everything they asked for because they had a good price. Less than 2 years later I decided to sell the house and when I found a new place I called for a quote on the new property. Within 2 days I got a letter from Allstate saying that they would be sending an inspector to my house to inspect it again. Since they pissed me off, I used another company on my new property and as soon as I close on my old house I will move my car insurance to the other company as well.
