Held 10% Liable Despite Police Report Showing OtherwiseMay 08 2014
I was involved in a collision. Three Police officers later investigated the scene of the accident, assessing the collision and injuries. I received the police report, which indicated that I was not at fault since it was my right of way, and that the driver involved was held responsible (since making a left turn in NJ is a secondary action) and issued her a careless driving ticket (which is approximately 4-6 points) The claim department has concluded that I am 20% at fault, when I argued my point, they held me 10% responsible, which doesn\'t make any logic, there is no way around with them. When I brought the case to other insurance companies/Adjusters, they ensured me that I am not at fault.. But apparently all state claims department are more knowledgeable than every other adjuster and police officer out there.
