Poor Credit = Higher Cost
I got a call from a person who said they represented our local Allstate agent. He said that they had new coverages and premium rates which they were rolling out to "Preferred" customers. I gave him the information about my driving record and the new vehicle. He gave me a rate that was $45 cheaper per month than my other coverage. I got a letter today from them telling me that I was not eligible for coverage due to my "Poor" credit rating according to some company called "Choice Point". I called the number provided and was told that I misrepresented my credit rating and that my history showed several collection accounts over the past 5 years. When I explained about the divorce and the fact that everything was paid and no longer an issue.
