Poor Claims Process Practices
I switched to Aetna about a year ago because a friend of mine worked for the company. EVERY claim that we have made has been met with multiple requests for "additional information". They use every lame excuse to ask for more information and they only ask for one piece of information at a time. This draws the claim out for three or four rounds. They send notices that they have "mailed" me requests for more information, but they really didn't send the request. You can't do anything online. You must physically mail the information to them, thus drawing out each request for several days or weeks. Two weeks after I send in the information they usually already had, they ask for another tidbit of information. This is such an obvious stall tactic.
