My hubby had an emergency appendectomy surgery. Aetna denied the anesthesiologist bill the first time saying it "wasn't necessary". It took 3 phone calls to get the bill settled. They also denied the ER visit. Once again 3 phone calls. He went back to the ER two days after surgery for pain and was ordered more testing from the surgeon. This claim was denied as he did not see his PCP first. It takes many phone calls just to get simple claims settled. I wish we had another choice for insurance but they are all my hubby employer offers.
