AAA Insurance Background
The American Automobile Association was founded in 1902, when cars were just starting to become a part of American life. There were originally only 1,000 charter members, and this quickly grew to encompass different local and regional clubs under the AAA umbrella.

We never made a claim, yet we were deemed a "high risk to liability." The staff is now amateur and unhelpful.

I was involved in an accident where the AAA policy holder was completely at fault. It stated that on the police report and on the ticket given to that policy holder. I called in a claim the next day to AAA. Two days later I called AAA to check on the status and they said that the claim was denied as the auto accident happened on October 7th and his policy premium was due on October 5th. They had not received it yet, so they where canceling his insurance.

We were hit by an uninsured driver. Our claims adjuster called back quickly. We had a check within a week. AAA is convenient to contact because they are open until 6:00 pm during the week and we can see an agent on Saturdays too.

Worst customer service

AAA the worst we have ever dealt with. They insured a car that hit my son's parked car, 100% the fault of the driver insured by AAA. The company lost a page of accident report and made no effort to contact owner of damaged car. It took dozens of phone calls over 2 months to get AAA to do anything at all.

AAA has not helped me through a total loss house fire. We lost everything and our home. They are refusing to pay for anything and are accusing me of doing everything wrong. These are the worst people to talk to and no one ever calls back with answers.

Slow Claim Processing

Their representatives are incompetent. I lost my house in a fire and I have received no help in replacing my belongings. It's been almost 1/2 a year since I submitted the info required to recover the depreciated amounts and I still have not received anything.

Double Charged

Four times now I have mailed in payment only to receive letters saying that my policy is either in danger of cancellation or already canceled due to lack of payment. When I call, they blame the post office. I'll make a payment over the phone, then the "missing" check arrives, they process that payment as well.

Poor Customer Service

The AAA office in Oceanside offers nothing but poor customer service. The first time I went to the Oceanside office I thought that maybe the sales agent was having a bad day and that's why I received bad service. But after my 3rd time at the Oceanside office, I discovered that each sales agent was just as rude as the first.

Slow and tedious

My accident with their member was a month ago. I then turned this over to my insurance company and they called AAA and were talked to very curtly. The problem seems to be that AAA doesn't recognize that the low estimate of $155.00 is reasonable. They want to get an adjuster out to look at the damage, and that sounds great. After a week no contact from the adjuster or AAA. It seems the only way to talk with AAA is to call again and find someone different on the claim.
