AAA Insurance

AAA Insurance Background
The American Automobile Association was founded in 1902, when cars were just starting to become a part of American life. There were originally only 1,000 charter members, and this quickly grew to encompass different local and regional clubs under the AAA umbrella.

Poor Customer Service

On one hand their representatives are nice and polite and on the other hand, they seem to be all uninformed. There is no one single time AAA send me a statement which is correct, and every-time I have to go in person to fix the mistake. When my wife total lost our Corolla, the claim was fine and the refund for the total was correct. I went in person to remove the Corolla in the new policy and add a Hyundai Elantra that we bought. They couldn't give me a copy of the new policy because the didn't have access to my account (head quarters are in California). Nine months later and after being there more than 12 times, they continuing sending me the policy with the Corolla and no Hyundai.

I have been with AAA insurance for quite some time now. I got into an accident that was not my fault and they dealt with the situation quickly and efficiently. They dealt with the other party's insurance so that I could focus on going to work and school. They were easy to contact and helpful. I would also recommend their road side assistance, which I have found helpful during the years when I was driving a 1987 Camry that was not always as reliable as I wanted it to be. They are a bit more expensive than the other insurance companies, but you get what you pay for. In the long run, paying a little bit more will save you the headache and time.

Refusing to take fault

My mother was recently in an accident. She was at a stop light and another motorists hit her from behind. There was a witness to the scene and he gave his name and number to give any statement either insurance needed. Even after AAA found out that there was a witness they still said that their motorists doesn't want to be at fault even though he hit a car stopped at a red light and there was a witness who saw the entire thing and saw the AAA insured motorist as being the one who hit a stopped car (mothers).

I was rear ended by their insured. AAA is trying to find a way to get out of paying me! I was sitting in a signal light completely stopped.

My girlfriend and I have relied on AAA insurance for a total five years now. We are satisfied with the rates that we receive and have not noticed any strange or unfair increases in our insurance rates. I consider myself pretty lucky: my girlfriend is the most consumer conscious person I know; she is constantly looking to see if there are better deals available. In fact, she makes a regular practice of comparison shopping for insurance, on average, about every six months or so. Not once has she ever said that she has found a superior deal than those offered to us by AAA insurance. Although we will continue to keep an ever watchful eye on our premiums, I don't foresee us leaving the services of AAA behind any time soon; the staff is great, easy to talk to, and the claim processing is equally good. Five stars for AAA insurance from two customers who will remain loyal.

No record of anything

I received a call from AAA offering a great package deal: home owners and car insurance in the same quote. I am a AAA member and I did get an excellent deal on the home owners portion saving about 900 per year. One month later I was rear ended. I called AAA and submitted a claim. Days went by and no one from AAA called me. I called again and there was no record of my claim or call. I re-filed the claim. Two weeks go by and I call. Again there is no record of my call or claim. Payment is a nightmare. They provide no online services of any kind. I submitted my first couple payments using my bill pay at my bank, but AAA started charging me a fee for the payments. I then called in the next 2 payments to their office and payed with my debit card. Last night I received a very rude call from AAA telling me they have not received payments in 3 months. Just like my claims before there was no record of the payments I made on the phone.

My brother put a claim in for water damage. They sent someone over very quickly. The inspector went through the house and told them that there was a lot of damage due to a broken water line. He informed them that will need the whole kitchen repaired. Now they are refusing to pay and are jerking them around. My sister and her family have been living a half torn apart kitchen with exposed mold for five weeks now.

Car Unknowingly Sold In Auction!

AAA sent us a bill which we made revisions on in late August and they told us they would send us an updated bill with the new cost. As we waited for the bill we, became distracted by other things in life, and we eventually we forgot about it. My daughter was involved in an accident in the following January. This is when we were made aware that we had never paid our bill and after a two and a half week review process AAA decided they were not going to honor the claim. All along, my daughter's truck had been sitting in the lot of a towing company. I called the morning after we found out it was not going to be covered to see when we could come pick up the truck. It was un-drivable and needed to be loaded onto a flatbed trailer. It turns out the truck was no longer in the towing lot. The truck was "missing" for two days before the towing company realized AAA had came and picked it up twelve days prior. After that it took AAA two more days to realize that they had already sold the truck that they had refused to cover in an auction.

Payment Different From Quote

I got a quote for auto and home. I asked a couple of questions and decided to go forward. I gave them my credit card info. They billed me immediately and sent me policies that were different from the quote. I never accepted the policies. I contacted them 7 times by email and phone and they ignored me. It took a month to get my money back.
