SAN FRANCISCO, CA — July 20, 2006 — Esurance, the direct-to-consumer personal auto insurance company, discussed some of its recent efforts to benefit the Bay Area. On July 23, Esurance associates will take part in the San Francisco Giants Community Fund’s 13th Annual “Until There’s a Cure Day” to help fight HIV/AIDS. On July 9, Esurance volunteers participated in a beach clean-up at San Francisco’s Ocean Beach, organized by the San Francisco chapter of the Surfrider Foundation.
Gary Tolman, Esurance’s President & CEO, stated, “Esurance is one of the fastest growing auto insurance companies in America, and this would be impossible without the tremendous support of San Francisco and the enthusiasm of our associates. Taking time out to give back is one of the ways we share our success.”
Esurance is also proud to provide financial support to a variety of organizations throughout the year, particularly those benefiting young people. Tolman added, “We’re a company that looks to the future, and, to honor that, we like to help provide opportunities for young people.” In 2006, Esurance has provided support for local chapters of organizations like Urban Services YMCA, Boys Hope Girls Hope, and Girls Inc.
Esurance has provided financial support to Girls Inc. of the Island City for its speaker series, covering such topics as science education, media literacy, and sports opportunities for girls. This support was acknowledged in May, when Esurance “spokesperson,” Erin Esurance, was honored as a woman who dares to be “strong, smart, and bold,” by Girls Inc. of the Island City.
Young people from Girls Inc. of the Island City and Boys Hope Girls Hope also participated in Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Р’В® Day on April 27 at Esurance’s corporate headquarters in San Francisco. Associate volunteers helped kids form their own advertising agencies, and the young people created Erin Esurance-themed advertising. Agency awards, a few photos of some of the future advertising tycoons, and some highlights of the finished work can be seen here: http://www.esurance.com/home/childtowork.asp
Tolman concluded, “Of course, Esurance is committed to creating positive opportunities for children and our communities every day of the year. That’s why we support a variety of great causes throughout the country, and try to organize volunteer opportunities once or twice a month. We’re pleased to give back to the Bay Area in July, and are excited about our plans for the rest of the year.”
