(Newport, RI) – Amica Insurance will hold a Coat Drive at the Newport Skating Center during the week of December 10 through 17. Skaters are asked to bring coats to donate to Child and Family Services of Newport. In turn, each person donating will receive two free skating vouchers and free hot chocolate and pizza.
“With so many people in need this time of year, Amica wanted to give something meaningful and essential to Newport families,” explains Craig Phelps, Amica’s Sr. Assistant Vice President in Corporate Communications. “Our sponsorship of the Newport Skating Center provided the perfect location for this Coat Drive. We’re hoping a lot of people turn out to donate their gently worn coats for such a worthy cause. Those coats hanging in your closet that you may have forgotten about will really make a difference to children and teens in need.”
Child and Family Services of Newport is a “Home for Friendless Children”, providing child care, counseling, school-based services, and housing for children and teens. The organization is the most comprehensive social service provider in Newport County and one of the largest in Rhode Island.
