American Family Insurance expands into Idaho and Utah

Multi-line insurer will begin to sell policies here on July 1

Madison, Wis. (June 25, 2002) – American Family Insurance, a multi-line insurance company and one of the largest property-casualty insurers in the nation, will begin writing policies in Idaho and Utah on July 1, the company announced today.

Based in Madison, Wis., American Family Mutual Insurance Company offers a wide range of insurance products and financial services, including auto, homeowners, commercial, farm/ranch, health and life insurance, as well as consumer loans and annuities. The company employs 7,500 employees and contracts with 3,800 exclusive independent contractor agents to sell its products.

Rob Quesnel will direct American Family’s sales efforts in Idaho; John Thedinga will oversee sales operations in Utah.

With the addition of Idaho and Utah on July 1, American Family will conduct business in 17 states. The company also sells policies in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
