Progressive, the country’s third largest auto insurance group, has selected Allison & Partners, a national independent communications firm, as its public relations firm of record.

Allison & Partners will implement a fully integrated communications program focused on both consumer and trade media outreach. The program will promote the overall Progressive brand, as well as its individual product lines including: private passenger auto, commercial auto, boat and personal watercraft, motorcycle and RV.

A key focus of Allison & Partners’ work with Progressive throughout 2008 will surround two major sponsorships the insurer announced this year:

— The Progressive Insurance Automotive X PRIZE–an international competition designed to inspire a new generation of viable, super fuel-efficient vehicles–and Progressive’s funding of the competition’s $10 million prize purse.

— Progressive’s partnership with the Cleveland Indians; the insurer signed a 16-year deal for the naming rights to the ballpark- -now officially named Progressive Field–and became the Official Auto Insurer of the team.

“We’re thrilled to be working with such an established and forward-thinking brand. Progressive’s core values and innovative practices are very much in line with ours,” said Scott Allison, CEO of Allison & Partners. “The company is a strong match for our firm’s experience and expertise and is a great addition to our consumer public relations and marketing group.”
