Michael Ray Joins 21st Team; New Senior Vice President for Customer Processes Points to Importance of Technology & Customer Care in Continued Growth

21st Century Insurance (NYSE:TW) announced today that Michael Ray, an executive with extensive insurance and technology experience, has been appointed Senior Vice President for Customer Processes for the company.

“Using technology and process improvement to further enhance our customers’ experience and reduce operating costs is a key strategy for 21st,” said Bruce W. Marlow, President and CEO of 21st Century Insurance. “Michael will have responsibility for our Information Technology resources and our New and Current Customer Service Centers, and we’re pleased to add a dynamic manager to support our growth plan,” Marlow added.

Before joining 21st, Ray’s experience includes 19 years with American Bankers (now Assurant) Insurance, based in Miami, Fla. His responsibilities included product development, marketing, IT, and customer service for both foreign and domestic businesses. Prior to Assurant, Ray worked at Marsh McLennon and Progressive Insurance. A licensed agent and a CPCU, Ray is also a chartered life underwriter and financial consultant.

Raised in New Orleans, La., Ray graduated from Tulane University with a double major in mathematics and economics and a minor in computer science. He earned a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard University.
