BIRMINGHAM, Ala., May 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Infinity Property and Casualty Corporation today announced that at the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting on May 20, 2008 eight directors were re-elected to the board along with the election of one new independent board member. Other actions taken at the Annual Meeting included ratification of Ernst & Young LLP as Infinity’s independent registered public accounting firm and approval of the 2008 Performance Share Plan.
Re-elected for one year terms were Jorge G. Castro, CEO for Lombardia Capital Partners; James R. Gober, CEO and President for Infinity; Harold E. Layman, retired CEO of Blount International, Inc.; Drayton Nabers, Jr., attorney with Maynard, Cooper & Gale, P.C.; Samuel J. Simon, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Infinity; Roger Smith, Executive Vice President, CFO and Treasurer for Infinity; Gregory C. Thomas, retired CFO and Executive Vice President of Citicasters, Inc.; and Samuel J. Weinhoff, insurance industry consultant.
Newly elected to the board was William Stancil Starnes. Mr. Starnes is currently serving as CEO of ProAssurance Corporation. Prior to joining ProAssurance in 2007, Mr. Starnes served as President of Administration and Planning for Brasfield & Gorrie from 2006-2007 and as Senior Partner at the law firm of Starnes & Atchison LLP prior to 2006.
