Adjusters Get Cars For Not Paying Out Claims
Have severe hail damage as do many of my neighbors. My adjuster came out said no sign of hail but did see wind damage. He would pay very little due to the fact that my roof is 16 years old. He also said that my siding is 15 years old. Not sure how that is possible due to the fact that my house is now 13 years old as of next month. But he did brag about how he and all of the other adjusters received new company vehicles due to paying out on such few claims in the previous year. Needless to say I have started to shop around
Drawn Out Process
They are great at taking your money until you actually need to make a claim, then they disappear and will not pay you a penny until you complain to the state. They drag everything out forever. Pay a little more to go with a better insurance company!
The agents might be great, but the adjusters are not. The estimate for the water damage that was done to my house is for $4,200. American Family is refusing to cover any of the cost.
For the past thirteen years I have been trying to seek money from American Family because of a personal injury that occurred during a car accident. The adjuster and supervisor that I have been working with are rude, and regularly withhold information from me. It's just been one stall tactic after another...
My auto and homeowners polices are with AmFam and I am very pleased with their service and cost. I have been a satisfied AmFam customer for over 10 years.
During a heavy wind storm, my backyard fence and gazebo got destroyed. I called my adjuster and explained to him the situation. He asked me to sent the photographs of the fallen fence and gazebo. As per his request, I had emailed him all the information. Without coming physically to check on site, he comes up with a misleading calculation. I had paid closer to $2,000 for the new fence without a gazebo! When I called him to complained about his unfair compensation amount, he came up with lots of stupid reasons to defend his calculation. While the conversation was going on and I was trying to point out his mistakes, he hung up on me and didn't even called back to justify his calculation.
Slow Claim Processing
A client of American Family rear ended me and the adjuster was completely horrible to deal with. She wouldn't return calls in a timely matter and tried to let the statue run out.
Screw Up Cost Me Thousands
I have several vehicles and own my own business, and home. While the auto and home coverage was basically what I can get from any company the company (not agent) screwed up and cost me THOUSANDS!
Poor Customer Service
My car was hit by one of their insured. The adjuster was rude and condescending. The supervisor backed him up. I will be cancelling our life insurance policies with them after this incident.
I was recently involved in an accident with an AmFam customer who was totally responsible for the accident. After their "investigation", the AmFam adjuster said in his (subjective) opinion, I was 80% responsible and therefore they would not pay damages. I understand from my agent that this is a common practice of AmFam.
