Edward M. Liddy
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer – The Allstate Corporation

Edward M. Liddy is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Allstate since January 1999. Liddy was previously President and Chief Operating Officer of Allstate. He served as Chief Operating Officer until 1999 and as President until May 2005.Before joining Allstate in August 1994, Liddy was employed by Sears, Roebuck and Company. He joined Sears in April 1988 and served in a variety of financial and operating positions before being named chief financial officer in February 1992.

From 1986 to 1988, Liddy was executive vice president of ADT, Inc., where he was also a member of the board of directors. Previously, he served for seven years in a series of positions with G.D. Searle & Co. where his last post was senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Liddy serves on the board of directors of 3M Company and The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. He is active in industry affairs, serving on the boards of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and Insurance Information Institute. He is also a member of the Financial Services Forum, The Business Roundtable and Catalyst — the leading non-profit organization working to advance women in business.

Liddy is also involved in charitable and civic endeavors. He is chairman of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare and serves on the boards of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Northwestern University and the Museum of Science and Industry. He also serves on the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club and the Executives’ Club of Chicago.

A native of New Brunswick, New Jersey, Liddy is a 1968 graduate of Catholic University of America and, in 1972, earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from George Washington University.

Catherine S. Brune
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer – Allstate Insurance Company

Catherine S. Brune is senior vice president and chief information officer for Allstate Insurance Company. She is also a member of the Allstate senior management team.

Brune is responsible for enterprise-wide technology strategy, network infrastructure, enterprise applications and technology-related governance, security and compliance activities. Effective January 1, 2007, she also assumes responsibility for all aspects of Allstate Protection technology management including architecture, thought leadership on technology trends, selection and adoption of appropriate technology products and services, and development and maintenance of innovative and effective technology solutions. Brune also will have responsibility for agency and customer support functions and the Allstate call centers, as well as leadership for the integration of various shared service functions.

Brune was previously vice president of Allstate technology shared services and has worked in various managerial capacities for Allstate since 1976. Under her leadership, Allstate developed an enterprise-wide business-aligned technology strategy, created a virtual data center environment, developed best-in-class monitoring systems for its web operations, consolidated knowledge management processes, and brought an enterprise focus to information security and business resumption platforms while generating efficiency gains.

Brune has served on numerous non-profit boards including the United Way and the Urban League. She is currently a member of both the worldwide and Chicago Junior Achievement boards. She is also a member of the Lake Forest Hospital Foundation Board. Brune is an Inductee of the YWCA’s Academy of Women Achievers and has been recognized as one of the Premier 100 Information Technology leaders by Computerworld Magazine. She is also a recipient of the Excellence in Corporate IT Leadership award from Women in Technology International.

Brune graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1974 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Management.

Joan M. Crockett
Senior Vice President, Human Resources – Allstate Insurance Company

Joan M. Crockett is senior vice president of human resources for Allstate Insurance Company. She serves as a member of the Allstate senior management team.

Crockett is responsible for developing the full range of policies and programs designed to attract, retain, and reward Allstate employees and agents. Her specific responsibilities include recruiting/selection, job and organizational design, compensation and benefits, leadership development, education and development, performance management, employee relations, and workforce diversity.

Crockett was named Human Resource Executive of the Year by Human Resource Executive magazine in 1997 and in 2005 was recognized as one of the Top 25 Women in Human Resources Leadership by the same publication. In 1999, Linkage, Inc. recognized Allstate as the Most Innovative HR Department. Under Crockett’s leadership, organizations and magazines such as DiversityInc, Working Mother magazine, Hispanic magazine, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Exemplary Voluntary Effort Award and Catalyst have recognized Allstate’s creative and effective Human Resource practices.

Crockett is actively involved in a number of civic and professional organizations. She is currently a Fellow of the National Academy of Human Resources, on the National Board for Jobs for America’s Graduates and a partner of the Center for Human Resource Management at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is the past Chair of the Governing Council of Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL.

Crockett received her Bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University.

Dan Hale
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer – The Allstate Corporation

Dan Hale is vice president and chief financial officer of The Allstate Corporation and a member of the Allstate senior management team.

Hale joined Allstate on January 7, 2003. He was previously executive vice president and chief financial officer of the Promus Hotel Corporation until its acquisition by the Hilton Hotels Group in 1999. Prior to joining Promus Hotel Corporation, Hale was executive vice president and chief financial officer of USF& G Corporation from 1993-1998. Hale joined insurer USF& G in 1991 as executive vice president of Diversified Insurance & Investment Operations.

From 1988-1991, Hale was president of Chase Manhattan Leasing Company. Hale began his career at General Electric Company (GE) in 1966 in the corporate finance group and held positions of increasing responsibility in his 20 plus year tenure.

Hale received his Bachelor’s in Economics from Yale University in 1966.

Michael J. “Mick” McCabe
Vice President and General Counsel – The Allstate Corporation

Michael J. “Mick” McCabe is vice president and general counsel of The Allstate Corporation and senior vice president and general counsel of Allstate Insurance Company. He is a member of the Allstate senior management team.

McCabe joined Allstate in 1971 as legislative counsel and lobbyist in the company’s Washington, D.C. office after serving as an economist and a lawyer for the United States Civil Aeronautics Board. In 1974, he moved to the Law and Regulation department in the Allstate home office, specializing in economic regulation issues. In that capacity, he often served as company and insurance industry spokesman and witness on legislative and regulatory issues at both the state and federal level.

In 1980, McCabe was named Allstate assistant secretary and assistant general counsel. In 1982, he was appointed assistant vice president in charge of the Allstate Business Planning organization. McCabe was elected vice president of corporate strategy and planning in 1984. In 1989, he was named group vice president and general attorney, serving as chief counsel to the Allstate personal lines company. He was elected to senior vice president of Allstate Property-Casualty Claim Service Organization in 1995. In 1997, he was elected senior vice president of marketing and brand development and was elected to his current position in August of 1999.

He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and has served on numerous industry and government task forces and advisory committees relating to insurance regulation. He also serves on the board of directors of the Gateway Charitable Foundation.

McCabe received his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Colorado and his Juris Doctor from the Columbus School of Law of the Catholic University of America.

Ronald D. McNeil
Senior Vice President, Protection Distribution – Allstate Insurance Company

Ronald D. McNeil is senior vice president, protection distribution, for Allstate Insurance Company and a member of the Allstate senior management team. He is also president of the Allstate Floridian Insurance Company and Allstate Floridian Indemnity Insurance Company as well as chairman of the Reinsurance Committee. As senior vice president, McNeil is responsible for the optimal success of Allstate’s four proprietary and non-proprietary distribution channels. Allstate’s multi-distribution platform includes exclusive independent contractors, independent agencies, direct distribution and broker dealer channels.

McNeil joined Allstate in 1976. He held numerous positions over the years (primarily in the financial area) in the company’s field and home offices. He was assistant vice president of corporate human resources and later became assistant vice president of finance. In 1991, he was promoted to regional vice president of the Allstate Valley Forge Region, responsible for all insurance operations in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Delaware.

In 1994, McNeil was elected to the senior management team as senior vice president, corporate relations, responsible for communications, media, external affairs and The Allstate Foundation. In 1996 he became senior vice president of Personal Property Lines and in 1998 senior vice president of product operations where he was responsible for profit and losses for all personal lines and commercial products sold through all distribution channels.

Prior to joining Allstate, he was a police officer and a financial analyst — both in his hometown of Detroit.

McNeil serves on the boards for The Lake Forest Graduate School of Business (LFGSB) and is a trustee of the Midwest Region for the Boys and Girls Club of America. He also serves as an advisor for The National Insurance Industry Association (NIIA) and is a director for The Sterling Collision Center, Inc.

McNeil received his Bachelor of Science degree in finance and business economics in 1975 from Wayne State University, and also completed graduate work in finance at Wayne State.

George E. Ruebenson
Senior Vice President, Property –Casualty Claims Service Organization, Allstate Insurance Company

George E. Ruebenson is senior vice president for the Property-Casualty Claims Service Organization of Allstate Insurance Company and a member of Allstate’s senior management team. Ruebenson is also CEO of Sterling Collision Centers Inc., a network of auto repair facilities acquired by Allstate in 2001. Effective January 1, 2007, he will become president of Allstate Protection.

In his current role, he is responsible for the largest employee group at Allstate, overseeing 17,000 employees countrywide who handle more than six million claims on an annual basis.

Ruebenson joined Allstate in 1970 holding various positions in the company’s field and home offices. He became an Assistant Vice President in Corporate Finance in 1987. In 1990 Ruebenson became Vice President of Finance and Planning for the Business Insurance Division and worked in International Operations until 1995 when he was named Vice President, Personal Property. In 1997, Ruebenson became Vice President of Procurement Governance. In 2000, he was also named vice president for the Property-Casualty Claims Service Organization.

Ruebenson received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Bradley University in Business Administration in 1970. He has pursued post-graduate work in both Insurance and Finance in various prominent universities. Ruebenson serves on the boards of Bradley University and St. Laurence High School, as well as the Advisory Board of the Allstate Foundation’s Teen Safe Driving Program.

Eric A. Simonson
Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer – Allstate Insurance Company

Eric A. Simonson is senior vice president and chief investment officer of Allstate Insurance Company and a member of the Allstate senior management team. Simonson is also president, Allstate Investments, LLC.

Simonson is responsible for the company’s $125 billion investment portfolio.

Simonson joined Allstate on July 29, 2002. He was previously senior vice president and chief investment strategist of John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company.

Prior to joining John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company in 1996, Simonson joined Prudential Insurance Company of America in 1975 and held a variety of investment management positions including president and chief executive officer of Prudential Asset Management Group, where he headed all institutional investment business for Prudential. He was then appointed president and chief executive officer of Prudential’s Private Asset Management Group, where he assumed responsibility for a $70 billion portfolio in proprietary and institutional client investments in domestic and international private asset classes.

Simonson has lectured at the Darden School, University of Virginia and was an advisor for the Masters Degree Program in Investment Management for the Graduate School of Business at Boston University. He also served as a Corporate Advisor to Samsung Life Insurance Co., Ltd.

Simonson received an A.B. degree from Princeton University. He then served in the U.S. Navy from 1967-1973. In 1975 he earned a Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University.

Casey J. Sylla
Chairman and President – Allstate Financial

Casey J. Sylla is chairman and president of Allstate Financial and senior vice president of Allstate Insurance Company. He is also a member of the Allstate senior management team.

Sylla joined Allstate in 1995 as chief investment officer of The Allstate Corporation and President of Allstate Investments, LLC.

Prior to joining Allstate, Sylla served as senior vice president and executive officer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee, WI. He also served as vice president and head of the Securities Department. From 1971 to 1989, he held a number of positions with the investment department at Northwestern Mutual Life, beginning as an analyst and advancing to the position of vice president.

Sylla serves on the board of directors of the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI), GATX Corporation, Insurance Marketplace Standards Association (IMSA) and Spirit Finance Corporation. He is also trustee of The American College. Sylla is a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research and the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago.

Sylla earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Science from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1966 and received a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Missouri in 1969.

Joseph V. Tripodi
Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer – Allstate Insurance Company

Joseph V. Tripodi is senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Allstate Insurance Company and a member of Allstate’s senior management team.

Tripodi is responsible for all marketing activities across the company including brand strategy and identity, advertising, customer experience, promotions, sponsorships, direct marketing, Internet marketing, consumer insight and measurement, regional marketing management and all acquisition, cross-sell and retention activities.

He was previously chief marketing officer for The Bank of New York. Prior to that he served as chief marketing officer for Seagram Spirits & Wine from 1999 to 2002. From 1989 to 1998, Tripodi was the executive vice president for global marketing for MasterCard International. He held positions of increasing responsibility for Mobil Oil from 1981 to 1988. Tripodi began his marketing career in 1977 working for IBM. During his career, Tripodi worked extensively overseas including assignments in Paris, Hong Kong and the Philippines/Guam/Micronesia.

Tripodi is currently a member of the board and past chairman of the Association of National Advertisers.

He received his Masters of Science in Management from the London School of Economics in 1981 and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics with honors from Harvard College in 1977.

Joan H. Walker
Senior Vice President,Corporate Relations – Allstate Insurance Company

Joan H. Walker is senior vice president, corporate relations, for Allstate Insurance Company and a member of the Allstate senior management team. As senior vice president, Walker is responsible for external and internal communications for The Allstate Corporation and its subsidiaries.

Prior to joining Allstate in November 2005, Walker was executive vice president of corporate communications for Qwest Communications International. She was responsible for all external and internal communications and corporate marketing. Her marketing responsibilities included advertising, brand management, market research, database management, web marketing and sales communications.

Previously, she was senior vice president, global public affairs, for Pharmacia. She had a similar role at Monsanto before the company’s merger with Pharmacia & Upjohn. Before joining Monsanto, Walker was senior vice president of corporate communications at Ameritech from 1996 to 1999. She also served as a partner in the Bozell Sawyer Miller group and in governmental and educational roles.

Walker currently serves as a member of the board of trustees of the Arthur W. Page society and the Ad Council. She previously served on the boards of numerous Chicago community organizations including the Art Institute of Chicago, Brookfield Zoo, the Chicago Children’s Museum, Prentice Women’s Hospital Northwestern Memorial and the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.

Walker received a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Douglass College at Rutgers University and a Master of Arts in sociology from Rutgers University.


Thomas J. Wilson
President and Chief Operating Officer – The Allstate Corporation

Thomas J. Wilson, 48, is president and chief operating officer of The Allstate Corporation and Allstate Insurance Company. Wilson is also a member of The Allstate Corporation Board of Directors. Effective January 1, 2007, he will become president and chief executive officer, succeeding Edward M. Liddy as CEO.

In his current role as president and chief operating officer, Wilson is responsible for all of Allstate’s insurance operations, including those of Allstate Protection and Allstate Financial. Under Wilson’s leadership, Allstate Protection significantly increased its profitability and has begun to grow market share. Allstate Protection combines the Allstate and Encompass property and casualty offerings through Allstate and Independent Agencies, respectively.

Wilson was formerly chairman and president of Allstate Financial, where he spearheaded that business unit’s drive into the design and distribution of an expanded range of financial products aimed at meeting the retirement needs of Allstate customers. Prior to his role at Allstate Financial, Wilson served as Allstate’s chief financial officer. He joined Allstate in 1995 from Sears, Roebuck and Co., where he was vice president of strategy and analysis. He was responsible for strategic planning, financial planning and analysis, and special projects for the corporation.

Prior to Sears, he was managing director of mergers and acquisitions at Dean Witter Reynolds from 1986 to 1993. He has also held various financial positions at Amoco Corporation, where he worked from 1980 to 1986.

Wilson is a board member of Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center, Francis W. Parker School and the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America. He is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization. In 1998, Wilson was one of nine chief financial officers chosen for CFO Magazine’s Excellence Award.

Wilson holds a Master of Management degree from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
