Robert L. Darbelnet – President and CEO
Robert L. Darbelnet is president and CEO of AAA, a not-for-profit federation of 66 motor clubs that serves more than 48 million members in the United States and Canada.

Darbelnet became AAA president and CEO in November 1994, after serving 11 years as CEO of CAA-Quebec. He began his AAA career as an emergency road service driver for the Quebec Automobile Club in 1973.

Darbelnet is a past Chairman of ITS America and the Alliance Internationale de Tourisme (AIT) based in Geneva. He served as Deputy President for Mobility of the FIA from 2001 to 2005 and as an elected member of the FIA Senate from 1997 to 2005. He is currently the President of FIA Region III and a Trustee of both the FIA Foundation and the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.

Mark H. Brown – Executive Vice President – Association and Club Services
Mark H. Brown oversees association strategy and planning, automotive services, travel related services, insurance services, partnership programs, marketing services and corporate affairs. He started his AAA career in 1972 as a part-time member services counselor in the Washington, D.C., area. Brown has been a registered lobbyist in three states and has championed issues of interest to AAA members. He is a trustee for the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.

Richard D. Rinner – Executive Vice President – Administration & Publishing
Richard D. Rinner joined AAA in 1990 as general counsel. In 1991, he was appointed vice president and general counsel. In April 1995, Rick was named senior vice president for administration and general counsel with responsibility for accounting, human resources, purchasing and corporate services and the Legal Department. In April 1997, he was named executive vice president, retaining his previous duties and assuming new ones for AAA’s travel information publishing operation.

Rick holds a J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in communication from Bradley University. Prior to joining AAA, Rick was an executive with a direct marketing firm. Rick also spent 10 years in private practice in Peoria, Illinois. Rick is a member of the Florida Bar Association and several professional organizations.

Satish D. Mahajan – Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Satish Mahajan joined AAA in 1990 as Information Services director. He helps AAA clubs remain up-to-date with technological advances. Prior to working with AAA, Mr. Mahajan was employed by Burroughs Corp., which later would reorganize as Unisys. In his former position, he helped design technology systems for Ohio Motorists Association.

Marshall L. Doney – Vice President – Automotive Services
Marshall L. Doney began his AAA career in 1984 and has served in senior management roles at AAA Wisconsin, AAA New York Automobile Club and the AAA National Office. His background includes member services, strategic planning, marketing and service quality. As vice president of AAA Automotive Services, Marshall helps set strategic direction and implements initiatives for AAA’s emergency road service and repair networks, telematics development, automotive business alliances, automotive acquisition programs, automated call management systems and training programs. He is a board member of RESPONSE Services Center, LLC. A graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis., Marshall holds a bachelor and masters degrees in business administration.

Sandra S. Hughes – Vice President – Travel Related Services
Sandra S. Hughes began her career with AAA in 1999, overseeing relations with preferred suppliers as well as implementing travel-related technologies. Prior to coming to AAA, Sandra spent 21 years with Budget Group, Inc., and Budget Rent a Car, most recently as senior vice president, Corporate Integration. She has been named one of the “Most Powerful Women in Travel” or “Top 100 Women in Travel” three times by Travel Agent magazine. Sandra has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Missouri State University, and is a member of the Travel Industry Association Board of Directors, the TIA Research and Marketing Committees, the Association of Travel and Tourism Advisory Board, and Vice Chairperson of the AIT & FIA Tourism Commission and the Chairperson of this organization’s Travel Agency Working Group.

Susan G. Pikrallidas – Vice President – Public Affairs
Susan G. Pikrallidas oversees AAA Public Affairs functions, Traffic Safety Services, Association Communication and Community International Relations. Prior to joining AAA 20 years ago, Susan worked on Capitol Hill with the House Foreign Affairs Committee. She is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College and Georgetown University Law Center, and a member of the Virginia State Bar.

John Schaffer – Chief Financial Officer
John Schaffer joined AAA in 1995 as vice president and chief financial officer. He is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the national office. He began his career with AAA in 1988 as the chief financial officer for the AAA Chicago Motor Club. Previously, John was a vice president with the professional liability insurance brokerage and underwriting management firm of Shand, Morahan and Company.
