Spanish Language Version of AAAs Fuel Gauge Report Web Site Now Available on the Internet

Orlando, Fla. – 3/1/2006

To assist media and motorists seeking retail fuel price information in Spanish, AAA has launched a Spanish-language version of its popular AAA Fuel Gauge Report Web site; www.galgadegasolina.com.

Regardless of where they live or the language they speak, the price of fuel seems to be top of mind for many motorists, according to AAA. To better assist Spanish language media and the estimated 31 million Spanish speakers in the United States, the nation’s largest organization for motorists is making a translated text of its AAA Fuel Gauge Report available on the Internet with the same data that accompanies the English-language site.

AAA’s Galga de Gasolina Web site is updated daily with the national average retail price of gasoline, as well as average prices for all 50 states and more than 300 cities and metropolitan areas. Prices for regular, mid-grade and premium grades of gasoline, as well as diesel fuel, are listed.

The English version of AAA’s new “Galga de Gasolina”, referred to as the AAA Fuel Gauge Report, debuted on the Internet in 2000. Both sites estimate average prices based on actual pump transactions from more than 85,000 gas stations from coast to coast. AAA has been tracking fuel prices as a public service for more than 30 years.

AAA clubs provide additional help to consumers wanting to economize when it comes to purchasing fuel. Many local AAA club sites offer fuel-saving advice and tips for road trip planning at aaa.com.

AAA’s fuel price information Web sites are based on data from Oil Price Information Service, the nation’s most comprehensive source of petroleum pricing information. AAA and OPIS collaborate on the design of AAA’s fuel price Web sites and AAA purchases the data from OPIS and makes it available free on the Internet as a public service.

As North America’s largest motoring and leisure travel organization, AAA provides more than 49 million members with travel, insurance, financial and automotive-related services. Since its founding in 1902, the not-for-profit, fully tax-paying AAA has been a leader and advocate for the safety and security of all travelers.
