Amica Insurance Employees Walk for Breast Cancer and Win Best T-shirt Design

Amica Insurance employees donned their blue jeans during a work day on Friday, October 7, in support of Lee National Denim Day. The event was held in Amica offices countrywide to help raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Since its founding in 1996, this one-day event has raised more than $52 million for breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment programs. Over $8 million was raised this year in just one day by an unprecedented 29,000 companies throughout the country. Amica Insurance employees donated almost $9,800.

“Amica employees really stepped up to the plate to help this worthy cause and I’m very proud and excited about the amount of money we were able to donate,” explains Patricia Talin, Senior Vice President in Human Resources. “Many people don’t realize that breast cancer is a very treatable disease if caught early. We regularly hold wellness seminars to teach our employees about early detection and how to protect themselves. I believe this is something every company should do to help raise awareness among their employees.”
