strangled transgender escort Andrea Waddell (29), then torched her home in Upper Lewes Road, Brighton.
BA CABIN CREW ON STRIKE AGAIN
British Airways cabin crew will today launch the last wave of five-day strikes in their bitter row with the airline, although further industrial action is threatened unless the deadlocked row is broken. Members of Unite will stage their 18th day of action since March and will stay out until Wednesday.
MUM FACES TRIAL OVER MAN'S DEATH
A mother-of-two will go on trial next year accused of murdering a man who was crushed to death under the wheels of her car, a court said yesterday. Shaun Dalby (28) suffocated under the weight of Naomi Myers's Fiat Punto in Coxhoe, Co Durham, in the early hours of February 2. Myers (21), of Coxhoe, will go on trial at Newcastle Crown Court in February. She denies the charge.
AIRLINE'S Pounds 80K FINE AFTER ACCIDENT
An Old Bailey judge criticised American Airlines yesterday for missed opportunities which could have stopped an accident that caused an employee to lose a leg. The company was ordered to pay more than Pounds 80,000 after ground support worker Kulwant Bhara (45) was run over by a 70-tonne "tug" vehicle, which had no audible alarm for reversing or reversing lights, at Heathrow Airport in November 2008.
PARENTS WARNED ON CAR INSURANCE
Many parents are inadvertently committing insurance fraud by putting their children on their own motor policies, it was warned yesterday. "Fronting" involves parents insuring a vehicle under their own name, despite it being used mostly by their son or daughter. The Motor Insurance Bureau warned that people were invalidating their insurance by doing so.
KEATING HOLIDAYS WITHOUT HIS WIFE
POP star Ronan Keating jetted out of Dublin airport yesterday for a family holiday with his children but without his wife Yvonne, from whom he separated on May 20. The 33-year old was believed to be en route to the south of France for a family holiday with son Jack (11), and daughters Marie (9) and Ali (4).
