Bodily Injury Liability
Bodily injury liability coverage protects you against injuries caused to other parties and your passengers when you are found at fault for an accident.
Bodily injury will cover costs including physician and hospital bills, lost wages, rehab, long-term care, and so on. This type of coverage will not cover your own injuries nor anyone else named on the policy.
Bodily injury liability coverage is usually required by most state but even if it isn’t, if you are in an injury-causing accident and you are found at fault, you will financially responsible and liable for all associated costs.
You should understand that if you are thinking of buying only the state minimum required for bodily injury coverage and you are involved in a serious accident, medical costs can typically spiral far beyond your control.
If you need bodily injury type coverage for and other policy members, you should consider Personal Injury Protection or PIP coverage.
