Katie Price Gets a Ten, Says Swinton

Following the recent news that Katie Price has been convicted of not being in full control of her vehicle Swinton car insurance is issuing a warning to motorists not to become complacent behind the wheel.

The former glamour model and aspiring writer was caught by police officers veering across a busy dual carriageway and was seen using her mobile phone behind the wheel of her pink horsebox.

She was handed a GBP 1,000 fine, plus courts cost and given three points on her licence. This brings her total number points up to ten.

Swinton, the UK’s leading high street retailer of car insurance is warning all motorists to focus fully when behind the wheel and always drive with due care and attention and within the rules of the road.

According to Swinton, as Katie Price has been convicted of driving without due car and attention (CD10) and driving while using a mobile phone (CU80) she can also expect a hefty increase in her car insurance premium.

Steve Chelton, Insurance Development Manager at Swinton said, “Motorist need to remember that using their mobile phone behind the wheel of a car is highly dangerous for themselves and other road users. It is imperative that motorist fully concentrate behind the wheel and drive within the rules of the Highway Code. Being convicted of these offences will lead to a fine, points on your licence and an increase in your car insurance premium.”
