Stay far away from Unitrin

I was run off the road by another driver who did not stop on Dec. 20th. When I called in an answering service told me I would have to call back on Monday. I called in, for a rental car and thought that everything would be taken care of. Boy was I fooled. The garage that it was towed to called me on Dec.28 and still had not had an adjuster come out. On Jan. 5, the garage called and said they would not accept the estimate because the adjuster was lowballing the parts and labor. I tried to get ahold of the CSR handling my account and got a voice mail that she was out of the office until January10th. I left a message for her supervisor that was not returned. Repeated phone calls finally resulted in the response that they would leave her a message for when she returned. I finally got a return call on January 13 that she would contact them and try to work something out. On January 15, the CSR called me back and told me i should have my car towed to a different body shop and she would fax them the estimate. Now my 30 day rental was down to 5 days remaining and still nothing had been done to my car. On January 20th, I received a call from the body shop that they were still waiting for the estimate. Several more voice messages left for CSR and her supervisor with no response. Finally heard back from them on 23rd and CSR claimed she never said she would fax the estimate. I requested an extension on the rental and it was denied becausse the policy only covered 30 days. Tried to get a new contract from the rental company and couldn't becuaee it was tied to an insurance claim. I placed a call to the regional manager hoping for a resolution and as of Jan28 the call has still ot been returned. I am now out over $300 for a rental car and still waiting to get my car back. On top of it all, they cancled my insurance for having an accident.
