Rude and unhelpful claims rep

I am currently trying to get a claim paid for. Our car was hit by someone insured by Unitrin. They met with me to see the damages and agreed to mail out a check for the estimate. It has been over a month since this took place so I called today. Only to be told that they haven't been able to verify this accident with their insured party. Even with the police report and her being cited, the claims rep said that they don't have to pay if they can't confirm it happened. She was very very rude and could offer no advice when I asked what to do next. After some time she suggested that I call my own insurance company. When I asked her what the amount was they were supposed to pay, I seriously doubt it will even cover the parts, let alone labor....bad news
