DO NOT USE UNITRIN DIRECT...HORRIBLE IN EVERY WAY

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR INSURANCE!!! Unfortunately I've had 3 experiences with them, 2 were very minor accidents, 1 was major. The only thing positive about my experiences with them is the cost, and honestly I think they are contracted out by another company who set the price. I was in an accident on January 5 and immediately called to make a claim and was told by the rep "our system is down and there's nothing we can do right now..." In fact I was told that by 3 different reps in a 30 minute time span, I finally got one decent person who filled out the claim on a paper form and worked very quickly and efficiently. He must be the only competent person in the company because it went south from there. The next day I called to follow up and see if the claim had been input into their system and find out what steps I needed to take next, the customer service rep was very rude. In fact I asked her if there was an issue because she was being very short and snappy, and she laughed at me saying "No...just... how can i help you?" She continued to over talk me as I was answering questions she asked me. It took exactly 5 days for me to get an answer from my adjuster who I left 6 messages and by the way her voicemail said it was still January 4th. Her name was Erin Pritt, if you already have unitrin and get her, you might as well get ready to take it on the chin. I've never had such a bad customer service experience from a company in my life! In fact I ended up having to figure out who they outsourced their appraisals to and contact them myself to schedule them to come look at my car. I also had to set up my own rental and pay for it before they finally took over the rental and put it in their name for billing 1 week after I was already in the rental. I was also told they didn't have the capability to email me a copy of the appraisal so that I could give it to the shop that my car was going to be repaired to, and not to mention, by this point I've only spoke to Mrs. Pritt twice!!! The adjuster that I finally did speak with was just as rude and sounded like she might be high or sleep on the phone and acted the same way. I could sit here and go on all day, and I'm not the type of person to do that, however I will be canceling my policy soon and I am going to write a letter to their corporate office. I urge anyone reading this to do the same.
