Avoid Unitrin or Be Sorry

1) being insured by Unitrin lowers your insurance rating which means you will pay higher premiums with your next company. Unitrin is considered a "substandard" insurer; I wish my agent had informed me of this.

2) Unitrin makes excuse after excuse in an effort to avoid paying. I was passed around from agent to agent and remarkably, each time we came close to an agreement, my rep was suddenly changed. I had one of the larger coverage options but the company refused to pay for a rental and charged more than other companies. Two weeks after the accident, I am still waiting for my check. Unitrin has managed to complicate a situation that was very straight forward. If I had known the type of scum I was up against, I would have gotten a lawyer. I am switching to Allstate as soon as Unitrin sends me my settlement (an unbelievably LOW offer, btw).
