Take These BAD Reviews Seriously! My husband is an independently contracted consultant and we knew we needed insurance in case of emergency. I had a visit to the ER on March 02 because I'm pregnant and I was consistently running a 104 degree fever (they don't provide maternity coverage by the way, pre-conception or not). While I was there, I had 3/4 extra strength Tylenol and a blood test to check my HCG levels and I was there for about 2 hours, the Total cost for this was $1791. Regardless of the outrageous price of the things I needed, United American did not cover ANY of this, they denied the hospital. I just got another letter from a different hospital I visited a few weeks ago for blood tests and they told me that they couldn't even get United American to respond to them. The submitted both a claim and a follow up letter. What kind of insurance company is this? I also had radiology work done and they covered $500 of $2000. The ONE thing I appreciate from them is the Pharmacy Discount plan, which usually cuts prescriptions down 35-50%. But that is definitely not enough for my husband and I to stay with this ridiculous excuse for an "insurance company".
