Read the Small Print and know what you are buying

While I don't have personal experience with United American, I have been insured with many insurance companies, some good and some bad. In reading the bad reviews on here, the problems discussed could have been avoided if people had read their policies, rather than take their agent's word for it. Any insurance policy should be read from cover to cover and the fine print examined. How could anyone justify shelling out thousands of dollars annually for premiums on something they hadn't read for themselves and had no understanding of?! Just because YOU think that your insurance SHOULD cover something, doesn't mean that it actually does. And as far as getting nowhere with customer service, if something isn't covered, it isn't covered, period. It doesn't matter if you yell at them a thousand times, they still aren't going to cover an uncovered item. You should have read your policy and made sure you understood it.

It's too bad that some of the insurance reps lied about the coverage offered, but you will find liars in every sector of the business world. As the saying goes, "Buyer Beware". Don't pay for something unless you're sure it's what you want or need.
