They let me down, paid very little of my hospital stay. I paid 80% of it. Salesman promise me they paid for everyone but they paid very very very little of it. STAY AWAY FROM UNITED AMERICAN. It almost bankrupted me.

I have a health plan with United American and it works like it says it does. I have had to go to the ER once and it paid. I have been to the doctor several times and all I had to pay was $35. I have had 2 out patient surgeries and paid under $75. The insurance works and I have referred them many, many times.

United American Insurance is hard to rate. I went through a long spell of unemployment and needed some type of insurance and they were cheap. I took their lowest coverage plan as I didn't think the others were worth the money. So far I have used it twice and they paid exactly what their plan said it covered - no hassles or surprises.

My father is a diabetic and has had bypass surgery and can not get insurance (self employed so no group plans), since they are not major medical they had no issues giving him insurance too. He also read his policy and they have done exactly as written every time he uses it.

It's hard to rate as it covers very little but then it costs very little too. It gives me an insurance card at the hospital (which has been useful at least on one occasion) and they did exactly as their contract said they would.

These frauds steal your money and treat you like a number. Do anything you can to get out of your contract with them. They took money out of my account TWICE without my approval, money that I did not owe them, after my premium was PAID!!! When I tried to get my money back, they claimed that they had no record of the transactions, and took 3 months to put it back. The customer service woman told me that if I didn't "calm down, she would have to disconnect me"! Calm down? When they had taken hundreds of dollars out of my account without me knowing about it? And then tried to tell me they didn't have RECORD of the money they stole? AVOID THIS COMPANY. They don't even have a real email address, and no list of providers on the site. I understand that mistakes happen, but a mistake happens ONCE. And if you make a mistake, as a company representative, you should apologize.

My husband got a policy for himself so that he would be able to insure our child when he was born. The agent met him in person, promised PERSONAL service, she even sent a card when the baby was born with a package of diapers. I wish she would have kept the diapers and instead paid ANYTHING on the baby's bills. They have not covered a single penny of the bills, despite knowing that this policy would be specifically for the child. She promised 20 well baby visits a year would be covered, not one penny has been paid. This insurance is FRAUD. Karen Vallor was our representative... if you see her, tell her to bite you.

I am the administrator of a Medicare Supplement with UA. They cover 200 lives with our Senior Care supplement. We have NEVER had a problem with anyone having to pay anything out of pocket. If a member receives a bill, it’s because the doctor or hospital did not submit it to the right agency. In any case, if I receive a call from a member that has received a bill, I call my UA rep. and within 10 minutes I have the date, amount and check number of the payment. Our members are 1000% satisfied with United American.

I just want to tell everyone that as long as I have been with United American as my supplement I have not paid one penny. I have had a knee replacement, a broken wrist and numerous doctor visits. I got my insurance directly with the company, not an agent. Maybe the people that are complaining should check on the agent.

The united american we deal with is legit and well worth the money. Last year alone there was over $8,000.00 paid out by UA and the premiums for the year were $2800.00. Grandparents have been policy holders since 1988. So I would say read the fine print and also check with UA and see if the agent you are dealing with has a good track record with the company. They are out of McKinney Texas. I must have read some of the posts incorrectly so I take back the part about UA Health Insurance Company being a scam. Don't just jump in with both feet. Read and understand what you are about to pay for before putting ink to paper.

There is a difference between United American Insurance Company and United American Health Insurance. The latter of the two is a scam company. United American Insurance Company from Oklahoma is a very good outfit. My grandparents have had a supplemental policy for years with them and they do pay exactly what they say they will pay. It is a bit pricey but with my grandmother being 94 it has more than paid for itself. Especially over the past 8 months with 3 extended visits to the hospital.
