Claim Service Indifference

Someone backed into my vehicle in a parking lot around the Christmas holidays. I was unable to contact the other driver's agent so I contacted USAA and was referred to Jeff Sloan, Tampa claims office. He advised us to contact their authorized collision shop, pay my $1,000 deductible and he would attempt to get me the "best resolution possible.: He also said that parking lot accidents are normally 50/50 liability. WHAT?? I naturally disagreed with his assessment. His only response was "I'm sorry you feel that way".

After the holidays I was able to contact the other party's carrier. They sent out an adjuster, interviewed the drivers and sent me a check for repair within ten days. I never heard from Mr Sloan for six weeks.

I emailed Mr Sloan and asked to speak to his supervisor. After several days she and I spoke. Her assessment was that everything was handled normally.

I had always heard the wonderful stories about USAA, but if this is how clients are treated, I must say I will NEVER recommend them to anyone, ever.
