Their agents are great, their claims are criminalMy in-laws have been fighting with State Farm for several years. They've even met with legal counsel, the State Attorney General, and they've collaborated on a book entitled "In Dangerous Hands" (available on Amazon) to expose the corruption at State Farm and other Insurance companies. My personal experience with their claims have been nothing but negative: they labeled me "non-renewal at renewal" for "too many claims" on my home owner insurance even though I've only had two claims that they've actually paid out on. They've admitted that they are counting claims I've made on other policies that I've carried (including car & apartment insurance) as justification for dropping my home owner insurance ... they, oddly enough, aren't dropping my car insurance for "too many claims" because they are too busy counting a claim for a broken windshield from 7 years ago as one of the "too many claims" against my home owner insurance. I called their after-hours claims number after a lightning strike and, after talking with them, discovered that I had less than the deductible in damage ... they refuse to NOT count that as a claim even though they didn't pay anything on the claim. They've also decided to count an inquiry involving an adjuster as a claim even though nothing was filed as a claim. State Farm says, we're counting it as a claim even though you didn't assert a claim because "it still costs money to send out an Adjuster". Horrible, unethical company. Stay away.
