State Farm

I almost hit a deer in 2002 and it took 2 months to even get an estimator to my House. I had to go to a friend that knew a retired motorcycle estimator and he called an active estimator and within 30 minutes an estimator was at my house. In 2008 an F5 tornado came within a half mile of my house. 22 Softball sized hailstones left marks on my roof causing it to leak and the ceiling in my back room collapsed but State Farm would not fix my roof only the ceiling tiles that fell. I said never mind because I was so tired of dealing with them. On Dec the 2nd I clipped a deer and my Jeep went in to a ditch and ramped off of a side road traveling 45ft through the air. The next day (Dec 3rd) I went to my local insurance agent and told them that I was going to a local auto body shop and I told them the name and then I brought the estimate back to my local office which they accepted. The National State Farm office called me and said that the place that I picked was not on their preferred list and they needed to send out a person of their own to estimate it but it would probably be on Monday. I left the Jeep out all day Monday and looked inside of it and I did not find any sign that he had looked at it and did not receive a phone call from him saying that he had been there. I called the national office on Tue at 1:15 pm and was told that he had not been here so I pulled it into my garage to keep the rain that drips into it from puddling. I called my local agent Kyle Hickam and told them that it was back in the garage out of the rain and the ball was in their court. I was asked what that meant and I said that they would have to call me so I could pull it out for them to look at when I had the time. I was told that it would just delay the whole thing and I needed to take it all with a grain of salt this is what happens with all insurance agencies. He had actually been there sometime on Monday and did not call or leave anything to that effect so I lost another day of renting a car. I called to complain at the national claims office and I asked for a supervisor I was left on hold for a few minutes and told that they were all in meetings and could she help me? I asked about where the estimate was and the lady said that it had not been sent anywhere. She then asked for a fax number which I do not have, but she found and she sent the estimate to my local auto body shop. In the meantime I called my local auto body shop and was told that the owners wife’s father had literally just died and they would not be able to start on it until Monday Dec. the 14th so it will probably take 5 more days making it the 19th of December. 17 days for a messed up fender and a holed radiator is ridiculous. I have seen almost destroyed cars fixed in less time.
