The insurance business is complex by nature dealing with both the law of contracts and the law of torts that vary by each state, and there are 50 of them! For these reasons laymen need an insurance agent to advise and help when buying insurance or servicing a claim. Many published insurance complaints are from uninformed or misinformed people. Two things. State Farm has been the leading insurance company in North America for sixty years in auto and home insurance. They have to be doing something right. Number two, if your claim is not being handled to your satisfaction call and talk with your agent. If you feel you are ever treated rudely or unfairly ask to speak to a State Farm manager to make problems disappear.
