Hidden Fees, Randomly Raised Rates, Dishonest Practices

At first, it seemed like a good deal. Their online quote was a little cheaper than anybody else. Unfortunately, it didn't tell us that we had to have a checking account to get that rate. When they found out we didn't have one, and instead paying through a savings account that still did electronic transfers, the rate immediately increased. After a couple of months, the rate increased again, with no explanation, bringing us from the originally quoted price of just over $30 to over $80! When our van broke, we decided to drop the insurance, rather than pay insurance on a non-moving vehicle, they threatened to turn us in to the state for not having insurance so that we would lose our registration!

Progressive is thuggish, dishonest, and absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. They don't care about their customers, only wringing every last dime they can out of you before you get so frustrated you can't stand them anymore.
