Customer Review - Progressive

BUYER BEWARE

Based on all the previous reviews posted here, they reaffirm my feelings of Progressive and their hack business they call insurance. There is a reason they claim they are cheaper than all of the other carriers. The old adage you get what you pay for certainly applies here. Fortunately, my husband and I are NOT covered by Progressive but through a reputable insurance company that has stood by us for nearly 27 years of coverage. Sure, our premiums may be higher, but we get exactly the service for which we pay: high quality coverage, efficient and friendly customer service, and NO hassles. However, we found out firsthand how truly unprofessional Progressive is. My husband was hit by another driver insured through Progressive. Fortunately through his quick thinking and persistence (signed confession of liability from their client at scene of accident and selecting his OWN body repair shop, not "theirs") we will NOT be shafted by these shysters. Their advertisements of cheaper premiums comes at a cost to the consumer. And they have obviously been able to get away with it. My advise here is to do your due diligence and protect yourself as a consumer. You DO have rights. Progressive wanted to put after market parts on my husband's car (and quite possibly from a junk yard) to repair the damage done by their client. However, through persistence and working directly through our preferred shop, my husband was able to get factory authorized parts for his vehicle at no out of pocket expense to us. It pays to do your homework. I'll be sticking to my insurance company thank you very much! BTW I give them a BIG FAT 0!
