My contractor loves MetLifePlain and simple, I had a home loss,, Frozen pipe burst. I called a local contractor that I had seen doing work around town. He came over, took a look at the mess. He asked me who my insurance company was and I told him it was MetLife, he smiled and told me to call them. While I was on the phone with first my agent, then the claims department, he was on the phone with a company to clean up and started getting the water out of my house. After explaining what had happened, the claims representative asked me if I had someone that could take care of the clean up, I told them yes, and they said to save the invoice gave me a claim number and that a claims adjuster would be calling to set an appointment. When I got off the phone I asked the contractor why he smiled when I told him MetLife, and he said that they are the easiest company to deal with and they pay quickly. In the end, everything was cleaned up, fixed, painted or replaced. My Agent advised me that I will most likely see an increase in my premium next year as I will lose the claim free discount. I'm okay with that. I've read horror stories about other companies, I'm glad I'm not with them.
