Homeowner Renter's House InsuranceMet Life will do anything to not have to pay on a claim. The service agent we bought the policy from could care less. The insurance adjuster handling our paperwork(over three weeks and counting)still won't tell us if they will pay for the claim or not from a busted frozen(it's winter, minus 0, but it is our fault)kitchen water pipe that flooded the kitchen down all through the finished theater room basement. We fixed the leak ourselves since that wasn't covered. The contractor(direct repair)won't work on the estimate and negotiate with the insurance to repair and/or replace the items with like items that need done until we sign a contract. The insurance adjuster keeps cutting the estimate. But, at this time we still don't know if we will be trying to fix this out of pocket(anybody got @20-30K laying around?). WE have had to rip out sheet rock and pay dump fees and are still waiting for them to make up their minds. They had no problem signing us up for the policy or taking our premiums every month. WHERE ARE THEY NOW?????? BEWARE!!!!
